The Role
As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you'll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You'll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world.
There's never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You'll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You'll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

Required Technical & Professional Expertise
- 5 to 7 years of experience with Pure VMWare
- Pure VMWare and hardware knowledge, including troubleshooting Dell and HP servers.
- Hardware Expertise: Strong knowledge of HP Gen9, Gen10, Dell PowerEdge series & Rack Servers.
- Strong understanding of Virtualization technology.
- Managing large-scale enterprise environments with VMware product deployments.
- Hands-on experience with VMware 7.X, 8.X.
- Experience in P2V, vMotion, and VMware vCenter.
- Good hands-on command line experience with ESX.
- Expertise in diagnostics & troubleshooting of ESX servers.
- Good understanding of HA and DRS environments.
- Experience in performance tuning of VMware servers.
- Managing and troubleshooting ESXi servers.
- Administration & management of Virtual Machines, clusters with HA and DRS enabled.
- Monitoring and configuring capacity issues in VMware environments.
- Installing and configuring ESXi servers.
- Configuring and troubleshooting vMotion, Storage vMotion.
- VC access and authentication control, including roles and permissions.
- Creating and managing snapshots, host profiles, and storage profiles.
- Deploying and configuring Update Manager.
- Configuring and managing alarms.
- Creating and deploying OVF templates and clones.
- Must have good knowledge of Incident Management, Change Management, and ITIL framework.
- Vendor management and data center operations.
- Enforcing technical and security standards for VMware and hardware infrastructures.
- Fine-tuning or automating repetitive processes.
- Following internal processes at all times (ITIL, time tracking, escalation).
- Handling system upgrades and migrations per the latest technology trends and global standards.
- Solid experience with VMware Infra, ESXi, Microsoft Windows, and RHEL OS.
Preferred Technical & Professional Experience
- Knowledge of networking concepts.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python.
- Contributing to documentation and reviewing standards and operational procedures.
- Working closely with peers worldwide by participating in periodic meetings and sharing knowledge.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills in these hardware products.
- Experience in DELL/HPE case logging, access management for field engineers, and collaboration with Data Center engineers.
- Knowledge of HP ILO Amplifier Pack, DELL OME, HP OneView, and Virtual Connect.
- Troubleshooting skills for Blade and Rack servers, enclosures, and their components.
- Knowledge of HPE Moonshot system series.
- Experience in upgrading and patching hardware firmware and drivers.
- Hands-on experience in hardware replacement.
- Experience with Data Center operations.
- Familiarity with centralized hardware monitoring tools.
