The Role

As a Hitachi SAN Administrator, you are responsible for L4 level Storage Management services and product support for various Storage boxes like AMS, USP, USPV, USPVM, VSP, VSPG1000, VSPG800, VSPG200, HDP and HCI supported storage solutions across various accounts.

Develop, document and maintain procedures for system utilities such as backup/restore, performance tuning and configuration of environments as well as incremental backups as required.

As a Subject matter expert provide direct technical support as needed in the planning, coordination, installation, and implementation and testing of releases, upgrades, or changes to Hitachi SAN products and Switches. Diagnose Storage products and related product issues and follow up with root cause analysis.

Participate in Disaster Recovery, replications, planning, Changes, Upgrades, Implementation and tests as scheduled. Primary on call support for Storage and associated switch products. Support for technical consultation and inquiries from the other IT technical teams

Who You Are

Required Expertise:

  • Minimum 6 + years of experience in Hitachi products AMS, USP, USPV, USPVM, VSP, VSPG1000, VSPG800, VSPG200, HDP and HCI Products.
  • Proven experience in storage Administration environment with work management, performance management and implementation.
  • Expertise in Disaster recovery and Replications along with an ability of upgrading/installing and migrating storage products.
  • Proficient to create and manage Parity Groups, Storage pools (HDT and HDP), Resource groups.
  • Validated understanding to create and manage Shadow image, Thin image, True copy and HUR Replications on Hitachi models.
  • Solid understanding of Provisioning and Replication technologies.
  • Proven experience on the Hitachi storage functionality and architecture.
  • Basic Knowledge on the following technologies: IBM SAN, EMC SAN, HP SAN and Netapp Storage products.

Preferred Expertise:

  • Proficient in working with high availability environment along with alignment to process (ITIL)
  • You love collaborative environments that use agile methodologies to encourage creative design thinking and find innovative ways to develop with cutting edge technologies
  • Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to work
  • Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management
  • Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Up-to-date technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications
