The Role
Infrastructure Specialists at Kyndryl are project-based subject matter experts in all things infrastructure - good at providing analysis, documenting and diagraming work for hand-off, offering timely solutions, and generally "figuring it out." This is a hands-on role where your feel for the interaction between a system and its environment will be invaluable to every one of your clients.

There are two halves to this role: First, contributing to current projects where you analyze problems and tech issues, offer solutions, and test, modify, automate, and integrate systems. And second, long-range strategic planning of IT infrastructure and operational execution. This role isn't specific to any one platform, so you'll need a good feel for all of them. And because of this, you'll experience variety and growth at Kyndryl that you won't find anywhere else.
The Responsibilities includes:
- End to end support of IDPA, Avamar and TSM IBM Spectrum Protect infrastructure.
- TSM Server Management, Client Management and Registration under appropriate domains and policies. Avamar Server management, Avamar Agent management
- Write data collection SQL scripts in SP Servers and Configuring and administration of SP Servers, Node migration from storage pool to storage pool, Familiar with node export/import process.
- Policy Management based on the Client requirements Troubleshooting Recovery LOG DB and Storage pool issues.
- Install/upgrade, configuring of BA Client, Storage Agent, TDP SQL, Oracle, TDP Exchange and VE.
- Triggering manual backup of VM, Avamar Agent, BA Client, DDBoost SQL/Oracle nodes help team to troubleshoot to fix backup issues and restore issues.
- TSM Health checks, IDPA health checks, DPA and DPC monitoring, Cyber Vault replication monitoring
- TSM server processes like expiration, replication, migration, DB backup issues, TSM server overload issues, thread issues, Alert push to Netcool or ITOM failure issues.
- Resolving the issues based on the priority and within the SLA Skills And Experience Configuring server process like Expiration Storage Pool Migration Collocation and Reclamation of TAPE Storage Pool Volumes, Restore damaged volumes from Offsite.
- Configuration knowledge on client parameters, Associating to schedules and scheduler service configuring Tape Management like check in, check out, Audit volume, restore volume, Scratch Maintenance, Library Management, Drive status, cleaning and power cycling, Gripper issues, Audit Library and Health Check of all SP servers.
- Checking administrative schedules like DB BACKUP, BACKUP STG if any failures working on it based on the priority Registering nodes to the proper Policy Domain and associating to schedules. Unlock the server profiles and subscriber issues.
- Regular upgrade plans and patching plans on TSM[SP] & IDPA, DPC, DPA and Agents / BAClients
- TSM Server deployments [Instance configurations], TSM Server upgrades, IDPA new deployments, Avamar GSAN grid deployments and DDBoost configurations on Databases
- IDPA Proxy deployments, VM imports on new domains, new configurations of datasets and backup policy groups.

Required Technical and Professional Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in backup administration, with Dell EMC IDPA and Avamar products is MUST.
- Experience on IDPA, AVAMAR, Cyber Vault and Spectrum Protect is a MUST.
- Experience on Spectrum Protect to IDPA migration is a MUST. Should have knowledge on server migration, Preparing SOP's, Preparing migration Checklist and plans.
- Strong knowledge of backup concepts, best practices, and technologies, such as deduplication, replication, encryption, compression, retention, and recovery.
- Proficient in backup administration tasks, such as creating and managing backup policies, schedules, jobs, reports, alerts, and catalogs.
- Skilled in backup troubleshooting and problem-solving, using tools such as logs, diagnostics, and support portals.
- Familiar with backup integration with various applications, databases, and operating systems, such as VMware, SQL Server, Oracle, Linux, and Windows.
- Experience in backup automation and scripting, using tools such as PowerShell, Python, or Shell.
- Certification in Dell EMC IDPA and Avamar, TSM is preferred.
- Ansible Tower, Help to Playbook writer with SOP's and algorithms.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Excellent Communications, written skills, documentation, follow ups, educate to team and help team, should have strong knowledge and work experience on compliance matters and ITIL process.
- Exceptional judgment and decision-making abilities
- Familiar with a variety of IT concepts, practices, and procedures
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
