The Role

The SOX Compliance Director will report to the VP, Audit and will be responsible for leading the testing of the SOX internal controls and day-to-day operations to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements.

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Lead the SOX controls testing program including, but not limited to planning, defining and reviewing testing procedures, and identifying control gaps
  • Provide support and guidance to control owners as part of deficiency remediation efforts
  • Develop and communicate clear, concise, actionable and practical observations and recommendations for addressing control gaps and enhancing the control environment and activities
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders (process owners and external auditors) to build strong relationships and support the coordination of SOX testing activities
  • Support the preparation of reporting materials to deliver to Internal Audit leadership and other Company senior leadership, and the Audit Committee
  • Coordinate and collaborate with external auditors to ensure SOX testing audit work can be leveraged to support an efficient annual external audit and ICFR assessment
  • Establish good relationships and become a trusted business partner ensuring productive relationships with all levels of personnel through the organization
  • Help foster a culture of continuous improvement mind-set, drive change within the Kyndryl
  • Assist SOX leadership on special projects as needed
  • Continuously improve the SOX program through ongoing learning
  • Build, develop and mentor the SOX testing team with sufficient knowledge skills, experience, and professional certifications to meet the responsibilities of the team

Who You Are

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 7+ years of direct experience related to external audit, internal controls, risk management, compliance, or accounting
  • 5+ years of professional experience with SOX 302/404 Compliance
  • Possesses at least one of the following certifications: CIA, CPA, CISA, CFE, or other equivalent certification
  • Strong knowledge of the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) by the Institute of Internal Auditors, internal control concepts (COSO), and accounting principles (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS)
  • Experience in managing aspects of a SOX compliance testing for global organizations
  • Ability to embrace and take ownership of projects, including maintaining day-to-day audit project responsibility
  • Excellent project management and organization skills and oral and written communication skills

Required Education

  • Undergraduate degree in one of the following areas: Accounting or Finance

Preferred Education

  • Master's degree in one of the following areas: Accounting, Finance, Business or other relevant area

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is -

$116,760 to $221,880 based on a full-time schedule.

Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.

There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:

California: $128,400 to $266,040

Colorado: $116,760 to $221,880

New York City: $140,040 to $266,040

Washington: $128,400 to $243,960

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl's discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl's applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
