The Role

Within our Mainframe DB2 Database Administration team at Kyndryl, you'll be a master of managing and administering the backbone of our technological infrastructure. You'll be the architect of the system, shaping the base definition, structure, and documentation to ensure the long-term success of our business operations.

Creation and maintenance of DB2 objects and privileges Creation and execution of database maintenance utilities for refreshing test environments, copying test / production databases, recovering test / production databases, re-organizing and statistics collection for test / production databases. Performing major data refresh from production to test environments. Responsible for all DBA activities including backup, load, reorg and performance enhancement Implement the DB2 Objects in various environments starting from TEST through PROD. Delivery of all DB2 related Housekeeping jobs and scheduling them in production. Around 3 years' hands on database administration experience with IBM DB2. In-depth knowledge of DB2 utilities such as LOAD, UNLOAD, RUNSTAT, REORG, COPY, experience working with IBM Admin tool suite, Query Monitor, etc. Add or modify user permissions to databases. Schedule regular DB maintenance operations according to workload pattern and usage of the DB. Play a critical role in design, build, implementation, upgrade and optimization of DB2 databases. Perform requested changes, updates, and modifications to database structure and data. Implementing solutions for DB2 database backup and recovery infrastructure. Monitor/maintain/upgrade DB2 database and assist application team with performance tuning initiatives and builds. Experience with IBM Utilities and JCL. Ability to independently research problems and provide solutions. Perform DBA support functions for high volume Production DB2 subsystems Handle backup, recovery & disaster recovery responsibilities for primary & secondary Production environments Participate in on-call & off-hours support coverage Assist application teams with technical advice, diagnosis of SQL errors Assist with data refresh requirements in testing environments Perform application DBA functions (maintain & implement DDL, handle image copy & maintenance activities) for all testing environments Support migration of DDL across environments to Production Experience with IBM DB2 utilities, BMC database tools.

As a key player on the team, you'll implement policies and procedures to safeguard our data from external threats. You will also conduct capacity planning and growth projections based on usage, ensuring that our system is always scalable to meet our business needs.

You'll be a strategic partner, working closely with various teams to coordinate systematic database project plans that align with our organizational goals. Required Technical and Professional Experience

• 11 to 15 Years of Experience in Mainframe DB2 Database administration.

• Responsibilities for this job role include, but are not limited to, installation and maintenance of the databases, DB2 upgrades and patches checkouts, performance and capacity monitoring & management, and security compliance.

• Monitoring health check jobs like Image copy, Runstats, DDL$DML reports.

• Rebalancing of Partitions.

• Space Management and Monitoring.

• Performed End-to-End Release activities

• Creating and scheduling utilities like COPY, Reorg, RUNSTATS and QUIESCE.

• Running Adhoc Reorgs, Runstats and Rebinds in Productions Environment.

• Implementing and scheduling production DB2 jobs.

• Monitoring on daily, weekly and monthly batch cycles.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Housekeeping and Maintenance of files owned by DB2 Database.

• Tuning of Databases and DB parameters

• Tablespace Migration.

• Provided 24*7 production support on rotation basis
