The Role
As a Mainframe System Programmer - MQ at Kyndryl, you will be critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our customers' IT infrastructure. You'll be the mastermind behind maintaining and optimizing their systems, ensuring they're always running at peak performance.

Your technical prowess will be put to the test as you troubleshoot critical customer situations and provide timely solutions to keep their systems secure, reliable, and efficient. You'll be the go-to expert for sizing and optimizing systems, ensuring our customers' business performance is always world-class.
- Leverages expertise in the operation and management of IT hardware, software, communications, and/or application solutions, and the resources required to plan for, develop, deliver, and support properly engineered IT services and products to meet the needs of a business.
- Prepares new or changed services, manages change processes, and manages performance of systems and services in relation to their contribution to business performance.
- Applies technical skills to support the operation and maintenance of vendor products, services, and solutions and typically have responsibility for sizing, troubleshooting, and critical client situations.
- Job Description of MF MQ Responsible for the administration of Websphere MQ (WMQ) subsystems and associated software on the client's mainframes.
- Install, test, configure and implement mainframe WMQ and associated system software while maintaining a stable operating system environment for business applications.
- Perform WMQ system backups and recovery Monitors system activity for performance and availability and where necessary, tune accordingly Perform problem diagnosis and resolution.
- Create, maintain and use automation scripts for MQ for z/OS monitoring, alerting and problem determination and resolution Design and Implement security aspects related to MQ.
- Architect/Design Clustering, workload balancing in client environment Troubleshoot Infrastructure and Application issues related to MQ Evaluate and recommend changes to current and future system software requirements to meet the organization's needs.
- Ensure documentation of all related operational processes and procedures.
- Install and upgrade MQ for z/OS using Shopz Series and SMP/E Troubleshoot MQ problems using MQ command line and monitoring tools Provide primary and backup on-call support during extended hours (including nights and weekends).

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Candidate should have minimum 8+ years of experience Mainframe MQ.
Knowledge, Basics of Mainframe operations, networking.
Expertise on monitoring tools like IBM Omega Mon, CA Insight, BMC Main view etc.
Good Knowledge on z/OS and DB2 system performance tuning methods.
Responsible for the administration of WebSphere MQ (WMQ) subsystems and associated software on the client's mainframes.
Install, test, configure and implement mainframe WMQ and associated system software while maintaining a stable operating system environment for business applications.
Perform WMQ system backups and recover, Monitors system activity for performance and availability and where necessary, tune accordingly.
