The Role

Manages and administers the physical and technical aspects of database systems, including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and protection. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, installation and maintenance of the database system, installation of upgrades and patches, performance and capacity monitoring/management, and security compliance. Proposes and implements enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Potential interaction with clients (internal or external) in order to understand and meet requirements for the delivery of services related to database products.

Who You Are

  • About 3+ Yrs of relevant Experience as Open DB DBA.
  • Open DB (Postgres, MariaDB, MYSQL, Redis, MongoDB).
  • 24/7 support of production database services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by business systems.
  • Installation, monitoring and reporting of databases.
  • Management and maintenance of back-ups & recovery policies/procedures.
  • Installation and maintenance of database server, replication and client environments.
  • Setting up DB backup, perform recovery as required.
  • Security and access control.
  • Creation and maintenance of SQL queries required for Administration, monitoring of DBs etc.
  • Applying patches and DB Migrations in production databases
  • Perform security heath checks and remedy gaps as required
  • Reviewing and recommendation of tuning of SQL queries as applicable.
  • Essential skills:
  • Hands-on experience of Open DB technologies
  • Experience with Unix/Linux/Windows in a multi-domain environment including basic commands and shell scripting.
  • Good working knowledge of job scheduling and monitoring tools - SYRN, Grafana etc.

Further candidate should be:

  • Effective communicator (both written & verbal), Quick learner, flexible and open for 24X7 support including weekends, good Interpersonal skills, Problem solving and diagnostic skills, Team working skills and Customer centric approach.
