The Role

Working at Kyndryl means working on progress. We design, build, manage and modernize information systems that the world depends on every day.

As for an OpenShift Engineer, building and managing the Container Platform, together with your colleagues, is your domain. You are the source of information for first- and second-line support in this area. The expert everyone turns to when they have questions. You help them with pleasure and drive. Your problem-solving skills come in handy in collaboration with the development teams, when providing technical guidance on Container onboarding and server security projects. Together you ensure that the configuration is always up-to-date and secure.

This also means that you are vigilant when it comes to the performance and availability of the IT infrastructure. You analyze possible problems and propose improvements and solutions. If necessary, you can immerse yourself completely in the complex architecture and security. You even offer incidental third-line support to IT infrastructure teams, if necessary.

The growth path for an OpenShift Engineer typically progresses through several stages, each focusing on deeper technical expertise, leadership, and broader organizational impact:

  • Architect - Design scalable, secure DevOps architectures, evaluate new technologies, and align technology strategies with business goals.
  • Consultant - Serve as a client advisor, manage projects, and contribute to thought leadership in DevOps practices and solutions.

We offer a gross monthly salary of a minimum of €5.215 to €6.858. The salary offer may even exceed this range depending on the skills and capabilities you can bring to the team. You are eligible for two semi-annual salary payments to be paid along with the June and December salary (holiday allowance and 13th-month bonus).

Who You Are

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • At least 7 years of experience with scripting or programming.
  • Communication skills: you enjoy working in a team, although you can also work independently and communicate your progress well.
  • Critical view: your engineering experience keeps you critical of possible opportunities.
  • Cloud and CloudNative mindset
  • Security mindset
  • You have practical experience with:

o Container technology: Redhat OpenShift and other Kubernetes variants

o Docker, CRI-O

o Linux

o Networking

o Security and other integrations

As this role is dedicated to supporting our distinguished customers in the Netherlands, proficiency in Dutch is a prerequisite for this opportunity.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Building a container platform based on OpenShift technology.
  • Building and implementing multicluster management with Redhat Advanced Cluster Management.
  • Knowledge of other OpenShift modules such as RHODF, RHACS
  • Cloud: IaaS, PaaS.
  • Automation tools such as Ansible or Gitlab.
  • Observability and tools such as Elastic, Prometheus, rafana, OpenTracing
  • Scripting in Perl, Python, Shell Scripting, Ruby and/or Power CLI ITIL processes.
