The Role
Network Specialist
We are looking for two skilled Network Specialists to provide continuous network technical support and manage network changes. If you have a strong background in financial services applications and network administration, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- 24/7/365 Rotation On-Call Network Technical Support: Provide continuous network technical support for financial solutions, managing interactions with clients and third-party vendors.
- Weekend and Maintenance Window Network Changes: Execute network changes during weekends and agreed maintenance windows, ensuring minimal disruption and optimization.
- Network Connectivity and Performance Optimization: Ensure robust network connectivity, swiftly resolve performance issues, and optimize carrier services.
- Technical Analysis and Problem Solving: Engage in in-depth analysis, problem-solving, and evaluation of specialized technical topics related to project objectives.
- Complex Environment Network Administration: Administer network access requirements within complex and heterogeneous environments.
- Maintain Security Standards and Compliance: Uphold stringent network security standards and audit compliance, including thorough documentation practices.
- Heterogeneous IP Network Management: Install, administer, maintain, and upgrade networks in diverse IP environments along with network management software.
- Network Operational Roles: Implement and manage network changes, security measures, and respond to security incidents within an IP network.
- Financial Services Application Experience: Leverage experience in working with financial service applications for optimal network performance.
- Security Protocol Troubleshooting: Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills for secure connections and security protocols.
- Data Center Coordination: Collaborate with data center support for equipment management and escorting service requests as per physical access controls.
- Network Performance Analysis and Management: Conduct comprehensive network performance analysis and management.
- Advanced Problem Determination: Diagnose and determine network problems to the lowest level using packet tracing and other methodologies.
- SIS Network Connectivity Focal Point: Act as the primary technical contact for SIS network-related issues, including VPN desktop support.
- Disaster Recovery Plan Coordination: Design and implement disaster recovery plans and procedures for SIS networks.
- Contract Review and Network Design Implementation: Evaluate client's statements of work/contracts for network components and coordinate network design, costing, and implementation.
- Time Management and Organizational Skills: Demonstrate superior organizational and time management skills to handle fast-paced capital market demands and ambiguous requirements.
- Professional Communication Skills: Exhibit exceptional oral and written communication capabilities.
- Customer Service Excellence: Proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service.

Who You Are
- Required Technical and Professional Expertise:
- Must have at least 6 years of deep understanding and experience of routing protocols and their applications.
- Ability to swiftly diagnose network issues, utilizing packet capture software effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of network security mechanisms, including IDS, IPS, ACLs, and stateful firewalls.
- Installation and configuration of monitoring systems, particularly Cisco solutions.
- Competency in prioritizing multiple projects and tasks efficiently.
- Experience in designing, implementing, maintaining, and administering enterprise networks.
- Proficient in documenting networks using Microsoft Visio.
- Expertise in managing Windows services such as Microsoft DNS, DHCP, and NPS.
- Knowledge of redundancy models applied in data centers.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
- Skilled in planning and analyzing network performance capacity to ensure efficiency and growth scalability.
- Experienced in conducting trending analysis to predict and mitigate future network performance issues.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:
- Hands-on experience with Cisco hardware and Palo Alto Networks.

- This is a fully remote role supporting clients across Canada. Candidates can reside anywhere within Canada.
- You must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.
- Employees may be required to work outside typical hours for ad hoc requests or support. This is a 24/7 network environment.
