The Role
Your Role and Responsibilities:
The Infrastructure Specialist will be part of Network Services Deploy. The candidate must have a strong understanding of network technologies and technical deployments, as well as excellent organizational and negotiation skills to ensure smooth, on-time site deployments. Technical network skills are crucial for coordinating from design to go-live and addressing challenges along the way. A solid grasp of ordering processes, asset management, and the ability to work with external vendors and internal teams is also required. Most of the deployments are very strictly target date driven.

Technical Planning:
- Hands-on experience with RDC (cabling routes and types), LAN Room setup, power & cooling requirements, and firewall requirements if needed.
- Collaboration with circuit providers for cabling routes, MUX deployment, and redundant paths via PoPs.
- Network design, IP Address and Subnet requirements and requests, space planning, cabling, switches/routers, redundant paths, high availability, and firewall requirements as these are very site specific
- Engagement with GSNI teams for cabling, switches, circuits, and site transitions.
- Integration with Print, AV, and other teams for cabling routes, switch ports, and static IP assignment.
- Liaison with Corporate security teams for cabling routes, switches, and potential solution development.
- Utilization of appropriate tools for technical planning of WiFi device placements.
Validation and Review:
- Validation, review, and recommendations on Site Architecture Documents and campus designs.
- Provision of technical consulting support and CIO NW availability for commercial or other business units requiring technical assistance.
Compliance and Capacity Planning:
- Compliance with K-Design and audit readiness through hands-on CAR process.
- Capacity planning for end-of-life refresh of campus devices, with technical analysis and design of reduced hardware possibilities.
- Asset management activities when required
Vendor Coordination and Logistics:
- Placing orders with vendors and coordinating deployments at sites.
- Arranging export and import when shipping devices between countries where feasible.
- Adhering to country regulations concerning communications and asset shipments between states.
Collaboration and Implementation:
- Working with architects, operation teams, engineers, and vendors to plan and execute installations, reductions, and closures.
- Collaborating with CISO teams and business units to agree on firewall requirements and implementation.
- Managing the disposal of EOL/decommissioned network devices through the eWaste process.
- Performing preventative power maintenance activities.
- Remote installation coordination with H&E vendors, when necessary, otherwise performed by Infrastructure Specialists on-site.
Who You Are
Technical/ Professional Expertise
- Minimum, 5+ years' experience on Campus network (Wired and wireless), SD-WAN (Cisco and Prisma) architecture.
- Minimum. 5+ years' experience on technical network deployments
- Minimum. 5+ years' experience on ordering, vendor engagements and asset management requirements
- Knowledge of Enterprise Networking including TCP/IP, Routing and Switching concepts.
- Knowledge of Network Capacity and Performance management.
- Knowledge of Wide Area Network circuit types, capacity and deployment
Preferred Technical and Professional Certification - CCNA or equivalent technical knowledge and Technical Project Management experience and or qualification.
