Who We Are

At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. So why work at Kyndryl? We are always moving forward - always pushing ourselves to go further in our efforts to build a more equitable, inclusive world for our employees, our customers and our communities.

The Role

Does Theodore Levitt's famous quote, "People don't want to buy a quarter-inch drill. They want a quarter-inch hole." genuinely resonate with you? Do you have a passion for technology and digging into details as much as creating long-term strategic plans? Have you built and led a product team responsible for designing business-critical enterprise systems?

Kyndryl is looking for a highly technical and results-oriented Director of Product who will master the needs of our customers and lead our team of experienced product managers, UX designers, and technical writers through exciting growth. Candidates must have a proven history of identifying customer needs (both external and internal), establishing clear priorities, and crafting products that delight customers. In addition to solid product leadership, we are looking for a Director of Product who will be a compelling external ambassador. Help expand our partnerships with Microsoft and IBM, and win our most strategic customer opportunities.

Our Director of Product must be able to wear several hats, at one moment serving as a critical thought leader and the next working directly on translating customer needs into actionable technical specifications. Product management at Kyndryl defines product requirements and works closely with engineering to deliver new capabilities all the way to customers.

Skytap, a Kyndryl Company, is a cloud service designed for traditional enterprise systems anchored in the data center. We make it possible to migrate, natively run, and modernize these systems in the cloud, helping businesses achieve their cloud strategies. Once in the cloud, our customers accelerate application innovation, simplify management, and unlock new cloud-based opportunities for applications where that was previously impossible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and develop an experienced and talented team of Product Managers, UX Designers, and Technical Writers
  • Develop a deep knowledge of Skytap's product and customer use cases.
  • Measure and analyze feature usage. Identify opportunities to innovate and improve customer experience.
  • Build strong internal relationships with an experienced engineering team. Champion users internally and execute product specifications that drive optimal implementation solutions.
  • Establish relationships and credibility with cloud solutions architects and marketing teams as a technical product expert.
  • Participate in defining strategy and product roadmap for use cases across the software development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the overall company success as a senior leader on the product management team.

Your future at Kyndryl
There are lots of opportunities to gain certification and qualifications on the job, and you'll continuously grow as a Cloud Hyperscaler. Many of our Infrastructure Specialists are on a path toward becoming either an Architect or Distinguished Engineer, and there are opportunities at every skill level to grow in either of these directions.

Kyndryl currently does not require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, however, if you are hired to work at a client, customer, or partner location, you may be required to show proof of vaccination to align with their respective COVID-19 vaccination policies. Those who believe they are eligible may apply for a medical or religious accommodation prior to the start of employment.

Who You Are

Key Traits for Success:

  • You feel a strong personal sense of product ownership, are self motivated, and you sweat the details.
  • You are passionate about customer success and winning as a business-you will be an enthusiastic technical champion of Skytap's Product under Kyndryl.
  • Technical depth. You are technically deep, with the ability to understand technical tradeoffs in product development.
  • A delivery-oriented work ethic. You deliver results doing what it takes to get things done, on time.
  • Proven success. You have a proven track record of success working closely with engineering, sales engineers, and customers on highly technical products.
  • Flexibility and agility. You are able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and deal with ambiguity.
  • You can demonstrate strong presentation, written communication, and speaking skills.

Education & Background:

  • 10+ years of product management experience delivering products for technical users.
  • 5+ years leading product and technical teams
  • 5+ years of product management experience with software as a service delivery.
  • Excellent understanding of some cloud computing technologies, highly reliable and available large scale distributed systems.
  • Experience with devops processes, platforms and tools are a plus.
