As a Data Scientist for AI at Kyndryl you will join the Kyndryl Consultant Profession, working with other Kyndryl Consultants, Architects, Project Managers, and cross-functional Technical Subject Matter Experts - presenting unlimited opportunities with unmatched support through our investment in your learning, training, and career growth.

Who You Are

Kyndryl is looking for leaders who are passionate about helping some of the world's biggest companies make better use of their data. Our data scientists are everywhere; leveraging AI to help empower field workers with AI assisted decision making, creating a platform to help banks fight money laundering, and even ensuring that clients' interactions with generative AI are safe. We're looking for data scientists who aren't satisfied with the easy problems, who don't want to work on the same questions or even the same technology every day.

As a Data Scientist for AI you'll have two major functions. Whenever possible you'll be assigned to a customer or industry to help assess, advise and build solutions for clients. You'll work with talented data engineers and consulting leaders to not only sift through the data but also to identify the opportunities that our customers may have missed or create their data strategy and roadmap. We are partnered tightly with AWS, Azure, and Google and part of your job will be to understand their latest technology in the Data Science area and how it can impact your customers.

Additionally, when not directly assigned to projects, you will be helping to build our practice by developing perspectives, creating PoVs and identifying areas where we can uniquely and effectively position Kyndryl as a competitor. You will work within a collaborative environment and lead efforts within a talented team to develop new or augment existing capabilities for Kyndryl to take to market. In order to prioritize and align our efforts effectively, you will also take part in sales conversations to understand customer demand and the pulse of the industry overall.

Responsibilities:

  • Always be learning. You'll be exposed constantly to new business problems, new clients, and new technologies.
  • Synthesize data to create AI and Analytics models.
  • Work on collaborative teams leveraging agile techniques, effective documentation, and clear development practices to create quality solutions for clients.
  • Articulate requirements to data engineering teams and collaborate with stakeholders to creatively obtain the data necessary to provide client value.
  • Overseeing projects from start to finish, from understanding of the business problems to deployment of solutions.
  • Communicate with stakeholders on progress and expectations.
  • Communicate with sales teams to establish and support Kyndryl positioning within accounts.

Required Experience:

  • An Entrepreneurial Attitude. We are just beginning to grow our Data and AI offerings, you should be ready to do whatever is necessary to make our team stronger.
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Deep knowledge of Python and the libraries required for data science (Pandas, PyTorch, etc...)
  • Ability to articulate the value of your work and frame key decisions for stakeholders that may not have a deep background in data science.
  • A collaborative, agile mindset.
  • Experience with at least one of Google, AWS, or Azure's AI and Data Science offerings.

Preferred Experience:

  • One of Kyndryl's key focus areas is on AI for our Financial Services Clients, experience building models or working in finance, healthcare, or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLM)
  • Deep experience with the data science offerings of multiple hyperscalers.
  • Experience with R and other non-Python Data Science languages
  • Previous experience working with sales teams is a plus.

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $134,160 to $254,880 based on a full-time schedule.

Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.

There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:

California:$147,600 to $305,880

Colorado: $134,160 to $254,880

New York City: $161,040 to $305,880

Washington: $147,600 to $280,320

Washington DC:$147,600 to $280,320

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl's discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl's applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
