The Role

Are you an experienced Project Manager confident in working with clients, internal project teams, and a wide range of external stakeholders? Do you have a desire to lead, challenge, and succeed by taking responsibility for the project management of large, complex technology projects?

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Experience and responsibility for multiple large, complex projects with greater impact to the enterprise.
  • Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts, identifying resource needs, performing quality review; and escalating functional, quality, and timeline issues appropriately.
  • Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the project deliverables within assigned timing and funds.
  • Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed. Engage with key stakeholders to insure alignment on expectations and deliverables.
  • Possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques.
  • Agile mind-set and familiar with Agile Project Management principles
  • Proven success in coaching, leading, motivating and developing team members.
  • Managing migration and modernisation projects, developing detailed project plans, and providing metrics for reporting.
  • Responsible for providing overall direction, coordination, and completion of all technical deliverables
  • Works in tandem with the Transformation Owners to secure understanding of the desired requirements by the business, and then works with the team of Managers and Leads to translate priorities and deliverables.
  • Coordinate project activities amongst the functional and technical team members consultants
  • Provides project management expertise and leads key project work streams, working with the full project life cycle, following project Governance processes
  • Scope, plan and manage projects through the entire life cycle, ensuring delivery to time, cost and quality
  • Establish and maintain risk assessment to identify and assess the material risks that arise in their area of responsibility
  • Identify and evaluate project risks and issues and devise and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure a smooth transition between Project team and BAU team post migration/ project completion.

Who You Are

Required Professional and Technical Expertise

  • In depth knowledge and repeated experience of leading large workload migration and modernisation projects.
  • Strong client and 3rd party stakeholder management skills.
  • Understanding of workload migration methodologies, and the types of tools used for discovery and migration execution.
  • Experience of MS Project for creation and maintenance of project plans.
  • Experience of managing cloud migration or modernisation projects (e.g. migrating workloads to Microsoft Azure Cloud / AWS / Google / other cloud providers).
  • Completion of recognised project management training, or professional certification (e.g. PMP/PMI, Prince II).

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise

  • Experience of managing data or application modernisation projects
  • Agile project management certification
  • Cloud certifications (Foundational level)
