The Role

Are you ready to embark on a technical adventure and become a hero to our external and internal users? As Technical Support at Kyndryl, you'll be part of an elite team that provides exceptional technical assistance, enabling our clients to achieve their desired business outcomes.

You'll be a troubleshooter extraordinaire, diagnosing and repairing complex equipment, software, and systems with ease. Nothing will be too challenging for you to solve as you respond to escalated issues, report critical design flaws, reliability and maintenance problems, and bugs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience in supporting IBM AIX (6.1, 7.1, 7.2) and P-Series server technologies in a business infrastructure environment is a must.
  • Experience of systems management using IBM Virtualisation technologies (VIO) is essential.
  • Experience of supporting RHEL server technologies is essential. AIX or RHEL certifications relevant to systems administration would be preferable.
  • Experience of administering and supporting multiple systems in a complex and distributed environment, including the day to day management of resources and issues.
  • Experience of installing, configuring, and upgrading infrastructure systems; experience of NIM is desirable.
  • To identify and take ownership of issues found and resolve at the earliest opportunity according to priority and impact. Investigate the root-cause of incidents and look to implement fixes where possible rather than workarounds.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Minimum 6 years plus experience is required in AIX domain.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with AIX operating systems and pServer hardware.
  • Strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux system administration.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as PowerVM.
  • Experience with SAN/NAS storage administration.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Advanced Technical Expert - Power Systems) are a plus.
  • Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools.
  • Understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
