JOB DESCRIPTION
Create a friendly customer experience through exceptional service by highly satisfying each customer's needs and exceeding their expectations. Assist the store management through the district with day-to-day store operations in the areas of engagement, freshness, shrink and expense management. Assist store management in building high performance work teams by engaging, rewarding, coaching and developing associates. - Assist store leaders and associates in providing a positive customer shopping experience and increase associate interest in customer service/relations to enhance the company's reputation as the Best In Class in the retail food industry

- Address all customer inquiries and complaints in a friendly and timely manner
- Assist the store manager with day-to-day store operations (e.g., store walks, huddles, close the loop calls, scheduling vacation relief) to achieve desired sales and EBITDA results
- Host department meetings to ensure department leaders and associates understand and support Friendly & Fresh operational best practices and store standards
- Lead, coach and teach other assistant store managers (Operations, Merchandising and Human Resources) in their roles and responsibilities and the performance of store duties
- Communicate all necessary information to store associates enabling them to effectively carry out their duties.
- Encourage department leaders and associates to identify improvement opportunities around Friendly & Fresh; empower them to work collaboratively to develop solutions and create implementation action plans
- Ensure effective training and department programs are in place to support and sustain new store initiatives
- Utilize key tools and metrics (e.g., customer comments, operating statement, score card, etc.) to evaluate store performance, recognize trends, and analyze operations to effectively reduce shrink, increase total store freshness, maximize sales/profits and exceed the customer's
- Analyze and manage store staffing and scheduling using forecasting tools and performance reports in collaboration with department leaders and the Human Resources assistant store manager
- Assist the store manager in conducting interviews, training associates and providing timely feedback to store associates on individual and department performance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and company policies
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties, complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
- Travel to stores to conduct store visits and assist in the overall day-to-day operations as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- High School Diploma or GED
- Effective at leading teams
- Ability to recognize and protect highly confidential information
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to lead and develop others
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Effective interpersonal communication and customer service skills
Desired
- Bachelor's Degree
- Any experience with financial responsibility, including budget preparation and management
- Any experience as assistant store manager (e.g., in areas of Operations, Merchandising, or Human Resources)
- Any experience in retail management
