JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing new opportunities for expanding the customer base, increasing revenue, and enhancing the Kroger Manufactured Product brand reputation. Coordinate and collaborate with all related lines of business and continuously improve manufacturing processes by integrating new methodologies/technologies and adopting industry best practices. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate on continuous improvement efforts for each category to ensure quality and availability of Kroger Manufactured Product
  • Collaborate with the Merchandising and Our Brands Teams on portfolio management for assigned commodity
  • Develop and implement overall business strategy for new/expanded growth and brand loyalty in collaboration with other departments and stakeholders
  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership to our business partners to align our business and people processes toward deliverables that support being best in class
  • Remain abreast of market conditions, competition, new technology, government regulations and supplier information as they apply to the operation
  • Exercise excellent negotiation skills to secure deals, ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty, and then manage/maintain all relationships
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify tends and gaps in the industry and use the data/insights for strategic planning and decision-making
  • Maintain a growth and learning mindset to keep up with changing market conditions, customer expectations, and industry standards
  • Travel to Kroger locations as needed for stakeholder interface
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provides feedback to direct reports
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM
  • Bachelor's Degree in business related field or experience equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience in food manufacturing operations or corporate brand sales/promo planning
  • 5+ years leadership experience in food manufacturing, distribution, or retail
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or project management
  • Solid understanding of the value drivers and fundamentals in food manufacturing - dairy/bakery/grocery
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and train
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail and ability to draw conclusions
  • Proficient knowledge of financial statements and budgets
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to effectively meet deadlines
  • Understanding of organizational impacts that result from changes in business processes and technologies
  • Ability to analyze complex data and present effective reports

DESIRED
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration
