JOB DESCRIPTION
Supervise and coordinate the activities of truck maintenance. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
- Coordinate fleet availability
- Schedule maintenance
- Produce mechanics' schedule
- Develop and upgrade fleet information system
- Obtain permits and licenses; maintain records of permits and licenses
- Maintain inventory of repair parts and equipment; requisition replacement stock
- Purchase parts for maintenance department
- Prepare fuel inventory and reports
- Prepare repair reports and vehicle requests

- Review life cycle costing reports
- Maintain and evaluate tires
- Recommend capital purchase of new equipment
- Select vendors
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
- Maintain flexibility to work any shift, including weekends
- Travel to offsite locations to support business needs
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years experience in diesel mechanics/technology, and two years management experience; or combination of relevant education and experience
- Ability to operate all tools and equipment associated with a diesel engine shop, trucks, tractors, trailers
- Valid commercial driver's license
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain confidentiality
- Accuracy/attention to detail
- Ability to organize/prioritize variety of tasks/projects
- Familiarity with truck maintenance terms and processes
- Ability to continue education
Desired
- Bachelor's Degree
- Non Degree Program
- Any experience directing/participating on project
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
