JOB DESCRIPTION

Contract third-party payors in a retail, specialty, mail pharmacy, and clinic setting. Cultivate third-party relationships that drive pharmacy/clinic sales while maximizing profit. Support divisions, clinics and pharmacies and drive payor initiatives. Demonstrate the company s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Support contracting for Kroger health services (e.g., retail, specialty, mail order and clinic)
- Negotiate with prescription benefits managers (PBM), health plan providers, managed care organizations and other third parties to maximize pharmacy sales and gross profit
- Provide third-party support and information to divisions

- Manage the request for proposal (RFP) and contract completion processes
- Support division efforts to drive third party payor business initiatives
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) in the resolution of third-party complaints and billing issues
- Ensure complete flow of information, activities and results to division pharmacy merchandisers
- Assist with special projects as directed by the senior director of payor relations and senior contracting manager
- Travel to foster successful relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2+ years of analytical experience
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to successfully manage others
- Strong familiarity with Pharmacy industry/technical terms and processes
- Ability to handle and preserve sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
- Ability to develop strong relationships and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and external partners
- Project management experience
- Ability to balance strategic thinking and attention to detail

Desired
- 2+ years of lead pharmacy technician experience
- 2+ years of experience billing third-party claims in a pharmacy
- Pharmacy/PBM contracting experience
- Strong familiarity with PBM
