JOB DESCRIPTION

Assist on sales and use tax audits. Responsibilities include extracting supporting documentation and requested data in support of ongoing sales and use tax audits. Responsibilities also include completing sales, use, and special tax returns in a timely accurate manner and other supporting roles to the tax compliance team. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Understand all processes used to facilitate sales and use tax audits
- Understand and learn all aspects of sales taxes for multiple jurisdictions
- Prepare and analyze tax returns for multiple government entities
- Review and ensure adequate and accurate balance sheet detail as related to period closings

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum
- High School Diploma or GED
- Understanding of the Sales and Use tax audit and compliance process
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly express thoughts to others and exchange information
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality of files, conversations and documents
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high change environment
- Highly organized and proficient at multi-tasking
- Proven ability to set high standards of performance for self; assume responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed
- Ability to maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition (such as time pressure or job ambiguity); handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and to the organization
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others; establishing and maintaining good working relationships
- Professional in dealing with auditors, controllers, other division personnel, stores, customers/vendors and other departments
- Strong analytical and math skills
- Strong typing and 10 key skills
- Accounting skills and ledger balancing experience
- Strong planning, organization, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
