Opportunity

We are seeking a proactive and strategic Sr. Human Resources Generalist/HRBP (HRBP) to join our team in a dynamic manufacturing plant environment. The HRBP will serve as a key liaison between the HR department and Cast Iron plant operations, ensuring alignment of HR strategies with business goals and fostering a positive workplace environment.

Specific Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership

  • Collaborate with Cast Iron plant leadership to understand business objectives and develop HR strategies to support operational goals.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on workforce planning, talent management, succession planning and organizational development.

Employee Relations

  • Act as a trusted advisor to management and employees, addressing employee concerns and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Mediate conflicts and facilitate resolution of workplace issues in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Escalate alleged violations of policies to the appropriate parties (Employee Relations Manager, Security, etc.).

Talent Acquisition

  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
  • Oversee the local onboarding process within the plant to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Coordinate all hiring needs between the business and Recruitment.

Performance Management

  • Support the implementation of performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and the use of Kohler Talent Cards for individual development purposes.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers on performance-related issues.

Training and Development

  • Identify training needs and coordinate development programs within the Campus Ops. HR Team and with Learning & Development to enhance employee skills and capabilities.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Compliance and Policy Management

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and programs.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Utilize HR metrics and analytics to drive decision-making and identify trends related to employee engagement, turnover, and performance.

Initiatives

  • Work on initiatives across the plant, Kohler Campus, regionally or globally to continue to ensure that Kohler remains a Best Employer
  • Miscellaneous projects and initiatives can include, but are not limited to: development of trainings, enhancing the mentorship/reverse mentorship programs, career development program creation, etc.

Labor Relations

  • Become well-versed in the Kohler Campus Manufacturing Ops. Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Analyze the content of the agreement and its implications on the WI Cast Iron Business; provide cost effective recommendations for improvements to assist with productivity and associate engagement
  • In coordination with Labor Relations, work with business leaders to prevent grievances and provide guidance on those that are received

Other Duties

  • Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Manager of Kohler Campus Ops. HR or other Kohler Leadership

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience required, with a focus on employee relations and talent management in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Past experience working in a union environment and with interpretation of collective bargaining agreements is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Workday is a plus
