As a Family Operations team member, you are an important part of the organization and a strong representation of the company's values and mission. You are self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks while working from home and in an office environment.

The need for compassionate, flexible, and quick-thinking individuals is critical to the overall success of our Family Operations and Billing team. Champions Field Billing Specialists are directly accountable for subsidy and collections activities for assigned sites in compliance with federal, state, and local/district agencies and company policies and procedures while providing outstanding customer service to field operations and agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with internal and external partners, including Billing Specialists, Customer Care, and state & federal subsidy agencies.
  • Act as subject matter expert to provide support to team & field members and field questions relating to subsidy and collection processes.
  • Resolve and/or escalate issues pertaining to subsidy and collections as appropriate to leadership.
  • Complete all subsidy and private pay processes and system requests, maintain records for assigned sites in accordance with state agency, company, and department guidelines.
  • Cross-train on other positions and markets to allow for development and peer coverage.
  • Assist with the completion of agency contracts; obtains and reviews all agency requirements.
  • Attend all federal/state agency provided training and applicable testing.
  • Align to company tuition strategy both in subsidy and private pay, goals, and objectives.
  • Facilitate training with peers on subsidy and collections processes.
  • Identify and communicate process improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain current department spreadsheets and trackers.
  • Actively participate in one-on-one, team, and department calls/activities.
  • Reviews and processes student eligibility documentation per Level II guidelines.
  • Process accounts receivable adjustments, complete late payment fee processing.
  • Partner with field to ensure accuracy of parent accounts.
  • Advocate for families and children.
  • Maintain current certifications.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Strong computer skills including financial systems and general office software such as MS Office, Excel and Email.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Effective organization and time management skills.
  • Sharp attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet timelines.
  • Bookkeeping, billing, and accounts receivable experience preferred.
