Kindbody’s clinically managed program covers the full spectrum of reproductive health, including both female and male fertility, which encompasses fertility assessments and education, fertility preservation, genetic testing, in vitro fertilization (IVF), donor and surrogacy services, and adoption, as well as a full continuum of reproductive care including physical, mental, and emotional support.
About the Role
You will be working in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment where you will be relied on for your expertise, professionalism, and collaboration. This role is a full time position. The Coding Manager provides organizational leadership as subject matter expert for Fertility and physician coding.
Responsibilities
- Promotes coding accuracy and compliance for the company, and sets coding standards for the coding team.
- Ensures accurate CPT and diagnosis code assignment, coding accuracy based on ASRM and current payer guidelines. Responsible for maintaining payer coding guidelines, and recent payer coding updates in a centralized location for team reference.
- Sets and communicates team productivity standards, performs weekly audits of claims to ensure appropriate coding by team members, and coordinates with the billing team to ensure all coding related claim rejections are addressed, timely. Assists Accounts Receivable with coding related denials, updating procedure and diagnosis codes as appropriate for corrected claim submissions.
- Initiates process improvement, provider and staff training and development around new payer and company guidelines or protocols, and regulatory changes.
- Acts as a consultant and subject matter expert to support leadership, physicians, business office, and clinical departments on physician documentation, CMS regulations, ASRM best practices, workflows and related coding issues.
- The Coding Manager is also responsible for working with all departments to ensure all policies and procedures are followed by the coding department.
- Responsible for reviewing and approving Coding team time sheets and requests for time off based on company protocol
Who You Are
- Minimum Work Experience: 3 years as a medical coder with previous healthcare coding, supervisory experience preferred. Fertility experience strongly preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Certified medical coder with Certification(s), (e.g., CPC, CRC, CCS, or CCS-P). CCS strongly preferred

- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of goal-setting.
- Skill in planning, organizing, delegating, and supervising.
- Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures.
- Skill in verbal and written communication.
- Ability to read, interpret and apply policies and procedures.
- Ability to set priorities among multiple requests.
- Ability to interact with medical and administrative staff
- Ability to accurately interpret payer coding guidelines
- Education:
- College degree preferred, however, work experience will be considered
- Appropriate Coding Certification as mentioned above
