Kforce has a client that is seeking a Database Administrator II in Lake Mary, FL. This role is Hybrid.Summary:As a Database Administrator II, you will manage all range of RDBMS in highly available environment both on Prem and in AWS.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall database administration & system tasks, support & maintenance
  • Undertake monitoring/ tuning/optimizing, installation, updates, upgrade, and backups/restore/recovery processes, etc.
  • Carry out periodic database maintenance & systems support
  • SQL Server and PostgreSQL database design, system analysis & architecture design
  • Action incident and problem management activities, escalating issues to external technical support parties when required
  • Supply database statistics & related data on a timely basis
  • From time to time, support team members with data analytical and other application support activities
  • Manage operational tasks such as providing technical support for ETL processes, SQL Agent Jobs, and support Application release
  • Problem-solve issues (connections errors, databases & their operating systems) as and when they arise
  • Produce & maintain technical & user documentation
  • Issue tracking and change through agreed business systems
  • Working with other DBA and Infrastructure team, design and facilitate database backup and recovery as well as document and test all backup and disaster recovery procedures
  • Provide development and production support to troubleshoot day-to-day database or related application issues
  • Maintain and administer database security access
  • Manage DBA related projects within the organization
  • Provide input into Company's IT Risk Management function, working closely with DBA Manager/Risk Analyst
  • Participate in Company's Data Governance strategic development
  • On-call requirements to ensure 24 x 7 support of database operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent combination of education
  • MCSA SQL Server certification
  • MCSA Database Administration certification
  • 5+ years of experience as a database administrator in SQL Server and other RDBMS environments performing the essential duties required for this position
  • Experience with Monitoring & Diagnostic tools
  • Experience working with Windows server and Linux environment, including disk configuration
  • Experience with Microsoft Clustering and SQL Server Always on High Availability
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and SSAS/SSIS/SSRS technologies
  • Knowledge of AWS or other cloud platform
  • Proficiency in SQL Server and PostgreSQL database design, system analysis & architecture
  • Competency with SSMS and T-SQL knowledge to create data queries and data extracts
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Tech skills: Cloud - AWS and/or Azure; AlwaysOn; Deployment, Admin and Performance Tuning; Backups, recovery, restore; Change Data capture
  • Industry: Property + Casualty Insurance or Banking/Financial
  • Able to create and update PowerShell and Linux scripts

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
