Position Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity to support the continued growth of our Company at our Home Office in Austin, TX! We are open to a hybrid working arrangement for candidates. Reporting to our Vice President, Risk Management, our Risk & Compliance Specialist will be responsible for vendor insurance matters, claims litigation support, legal compliance and project management in an effort to protect the company and reduce risk. This role requires someone who is a self-starter, will proactively speak up on risk issues, highly organized, attentive to detail and great at working with cross-functional teams on multiple projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for tracking files, correspondence, records, filings and/or other documents for insurance claims; liaise with internal team members, insurance appointed counsel or insurance brokers and adjusters as needed
  • Support the contract review process to review insurance terms; work closely with insurance brokers on contract insurance term review
  • Provide support on overall insurance matters including annual insurance renewal and audits
  • Responsible for certificate of insurance requests from internal teams and third parties including, but not limited to, service providers, partnerships, landlords for new store openings, photo shoots and offsite events
  • Manage any low-risk customer injuries/claims resulting in no medical visits or minimal medical intervention
  • Liaise with asset protection, facilities and human resources on any matters involving drivers and vehicles
  • Support project management with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders by collecting and consolidating data, and tracking project deadlines on enterprise risk matters such as business continuity and crisis management.
  • Manage alcohol and food compliance and as needed other subject areas impacting fashion/retail; providing research, and liaising with outside counsel in support of such projects.
  • Accountable for other store compliance-related matters at the federal and local levels; provide legal support and advice to store teams.
  • Provide support for brand protection projects such as trademark name search review
  • Support other brand protection topics or actions against infringers as needed
  • Support special projects as needed related to any other subject area impacting fashion/retail; providing research, reporting, advice and such other tasks as required in support of such projects.
  • Work cross-functionally and collaborate with the rest of the legal/risk team

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 7-9 years' experience in a risk management or compliance role and/or for a high-growth company required
  • Proficiency in Smartsheets and the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel spreadsheets and the track changes and document compare functions in Microsoft Word
  • Strong analytical, research, communication and organizational skills
  • A high level of accountability, reliability and initiative
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail, with a strong sense of responsibility and follow-through
  • A proven ability to execute with consistent delivery and reprioritize based on evolving business needs
  • Possess high level of discretion, tact, judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate complex issues, risks and opportunities confidently and in an easily understood and concise manner
  • Enthusiasm to support the department and organization and eagerness to learn
  • A solutions-oriented mentality with a data driven approach
  • A strong ability to build cross functional partnerships and work collaboratively
