Position Overview:
The Production Manager is a member of the Sourcing team who reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Production. This is a salary, exempt position whose primary responsibilities are to build production timelines for assigned product categories, ensure on time delivery of quality product, engage and motivate vendor base to hit key performance metrics, and serve as the primary production interface for cross functional teams. This role focuses on driving speed to market and profitability through strategic planning and execution. This role follows the product from concept through delivery and requires extreme attention to detail and problem-solving skills to successfully execute product launches, replenishment, & company initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Production Management
  • Create and manage detailed production calendar for all assortments and reorders to ensure on time quality deliveries; ensure each business channel and type of distribution is accounted for while creating a calendar
  • Understand lead time metrics & production schedules to ensure vendors successfully hit all key performance metrics outlined in the vendor scorecard
  • Hold internal teams and vendors accountable for meeting deadlines and adhering to outlined production dates
  • Key production internal point of contact for all product in production; manage any product or PO change requests such as additions, edits, cancellations.
  • Manage overall production timelines from PO submission through delivery
  • Ensure vendors adhere to all production guidelines outlined in Production Vendor Onboarding guide including but not limited to; import documentation creation/submission, Sharepoint document storage/usage, shipment notification emails, etc.
  • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and communicating all special packaging guidelines
  • Collaborate with Sourcing Director on any potential vendor shifts for RP assortments
  • Collaborate with PD to ensure all new product POs are submitted based on vendor allocation and product approvals

Cost Management
  • Manage and log any pre-PO product or component commitments so that any KS liability outside purchase orders are accounted for.
  • Facilitate any necessary deposits between vendor and accounting
  • Identify opportunities for savings and ensure price breaks are executed properly
  • Proactively think of areas to reduce costs & maximize profitability throughout supply chain
  • Monitor & maximize volume price breaks by strategic calendar planning.

Vendor Management & Reporting
  • Review scorecards quarterly with each vendor providing productive feedback and ensure ongoing improvement
  • Set vendors up to successfully hit all key performance metrics outlined in the vendor scorecard through strategic production and capacity planning
  • Enforce & execute chargebacks to vendor for non-compliance of quality standards, packaging guidelines as outlined in the KS Chargeback Policy; Identify opportunities to add or modify to the policy to encourage adherence to guidelines and operational efficiency
  • Inform management of major vendor performance successes or roadblocks, identify needs for Corrective Action Plans (CAPs)
  • Create ad-hoc reporting as needed for special projects

Leadership & Collaboration
  • Build strong relationships & partnerships with vendors and agencies to promote the Kendra Scott family culture throughout the supply chain
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Design, Product Development, Planning, Sales, Finance, Merchandising, Logistics, Distribution, and intuitively know when to effectively engage teams to support department needs
  • Manage up to Director and VP to keep leaders informed and elicit support as needed

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years' experience in planning and/or production related role for a high-growth retail company
  • A proven ability to break down larger initiatives into consumable achievable tasks to achieve departmental and company objectives
  • Ability to clearly articulate plans and ensure team is aligned
  • A solutions-oriented mentality with a data driven approach
  • Proficient in Excel and ERP systems
  • Experience with data analysis & reporting
  • Experience developing, implementing and communicating new processes and tools
  • Broad knowledge of retail product development, technical design, planning, production, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, & distribution
  • A growth mindset: track record of leveraging past learnings, encouraging new ideas and smart risk taking in self and others
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to build cross functional partnerships to make effective decisions collaboratively
