Position Overview

The Manager of Site Merchandising, Strategy & Optimization is responsible for driving the vision, execution, and performance of merchandising initiatives on the eCommerce platform. This role combines strategic ownership, customer journey optimization, and data-driven leadership to enhance engagement, conversion, and sales performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategy Ownership

  • Lead and execute the site merchandising strategy, including site navigation, product presentation, and content optimization to enhance the customer journey.
  • Develop and oversee strategies for product launches, homepage storytelling, and visual merchandising that drive engagement and conversion.
  • Define merchandising priorities and promotional strategies to align with key business objectives and seasonal calendars.
  • Drive testing and innovation within site merchandising, including new tools, personalization efforts, and automated merchandising solutions.
  • Collaborate with Product Merchandising, Planning, Finance, and key traffic channel leaders (CRM, Paid, Social, and Brand Marketing) to align site merchandising initiatives with overarching business goals.

2. Customer Experience Optimization

  • Continuously analyze and optimize the customer journey (homepage to checkout) to improve conversion, traffic, AOV, and sales through mid-funnel strategies.
  • Collaborate with SEO Manger to ensure landing pages, product data, and content are optimized for visibility and discovery.
  • Leverage analytics to identify opportunities for site enhancements, execute A/B tests, and implement tailored product recommendations based on customer behavior.

3. Omnichannel Mindset Integration

  • Collaborate across digital and in-store teams to ensure a cohesive customer experience, aligning site merchandising strategies with broader omnichannel initiatives.
  • Leverage insights from in-store performance, customer feedback, and digital data to inform site merchandising optimizations.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (CRM, Paid, Retail Marketing, and Operations) to drive consistency across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Develop strategies that bridge online and offline efforts, ensuring seamless product storytelling, promotions, and customer engagement across platforms.

4. Performance & Sales Leadership

  • Analyze site metrics (heatmaps, behavior data, funnel performance) to identify and execute actionable improvements across PLP, PDP, and cart.
  • Optimize visual merchandising, sorting rules, and filtering tactics to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive continuous improvement through site navigation updates, product badging, and hierarchy optimizations.
  • Monitor KPIs, forecast trends, and share insights to drive measurable business outcomes and inform future strategies.

5. Cross-Functional Partnerships

  • Align site strategies with broader campaign goals by partnering with Paid Media, Email, Social, Brand Marketing, and Retail Marketing teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Collaborate with UX, Product and Creative teams to improve site aesthetics and elevate storytelling to drive engagement and conversion.
  • Work closely with SEO Manager to optimize site performance and drive organic traffic.
  • Partner with Marketing to execute strategies for product launches, key events, and seasonal priorities.

6. Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor a team of site merchandisers, fostering professional growth and driving results.
  • Streamline workflows and solve operational challenges in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
  • Align team execution with overarching business strategies and campaign messaging.

Professional Qualifications:

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, eCommerce, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in eCommerce, site merchandising, or digital marketing with a history of delivering measurable results.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop teams to exceed goals and drive success.
  • Proficiency in eCommerce platforms (Salesforce Commerce Cloud), content management systems, and merchandising tools.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset with experience leveraging data to inform decision-making and optimize strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
