Position Overview:
The AP Accounting Specialist is a member of the Finance team and reports to the Accounts Payable Manager. This role's primary responsibility is to support the accounts payable function and to ensure financial goals are achieved while maintaining overall company initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the processing of invoices and requisitions daily. Reviewing documents to ensure they are accurate, complete, and timely.
- Follow up and resolve any invoice, payment, or contract inquiries or discrepancies in a timely manner
- Reconcile assigned vendor accounts on a monthly basis
- Prepare and perform check runs on a bi-weekly basis
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical accounts payable files
- Review and process expense reports on a bi-weekly basis
- Work with cross-functional teams on a daily basis
- Complete assigned month-end accounting close tasks including, but not limited to, accruals, allocations, reclassifications, and reconciliations.
- Process product related and international supplier invoices
- Provide training as needed to staff and/or suppliers on AP related processes.
- Assist in oversight of offshore staff
- Support Sr Accounting Manager and Accountant in developing, implementing, and enforcing accounts payable policies and procedures
- Assist department on any other related accounting tasks, as needed
- 4 Year College degree required: B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow up are critical
- 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience is required
- High level of experience using Excel and other tools to analyze data
- Coupa experience is a plus
- Experience processing journal entries
- A strong ability to build cross functional partnerships and work collaboratively
