Job Summary
Kairos Power, LLC is seeking a highly motivated entry-level or mid-career supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) engineer with expertise in software development. In this role, you will build and maintain key software assets to support operations and test systems of a Gen IV nuclear reactor. You will also support industrial plant computer infrastructure and develop software tools that facilitate supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.

Responsibilities
- Develop industrial control user interface modules based on the Kairos Design System
- Test software with interdisciplinary stakeholders to iterate on requirements and usability
- Implement programming logic between software and hardware systems
- Maintain live applications and support users during industrial facility operations
- Develop APIs between different software tools
- Implement cross platform communications and access between different data publishers and subscribers including audio and video data
- Design and test algorithms to detect off-normal plant behavior
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Experience with any: SCADA, HMI, Electronic Procedures, Plant Simulators, Control System programming
- Programming proficiency (Java, Python, C++, C#) required
- Web development experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) preferred
- Demonstrated experience working with stakeholders to understand and develop software requirements
- Proficiency in computer methods for data acquisition, control, and analysis
- Proficiency with structured query languages (SQL, PostgreSQL) preferred
- Background knowledge in user experience design, human factors, and industrial automation design (using Ignition or similar) desired
- Experience working in a laboratory or research environment
- Ability to work on tasks and teams that require a multi-disciplinary approach
- Proven team player with excellent verbal, written communication/presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work alone on assigned work projects
- Excited to work on advanced nuclear and contribute to Kairos’ mission

Travel

- Must have reliable transportation to transition between Alameda, CA headquarters and Jack London Square Manufacturing location in Oakland, CA in alignment with projects and assignments
Certification
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
