The Payroll Implementation Specialist at Justworks owns bringing new clients onboard our payroll platform and ensuring all payroll history is fully entered and balanced.
As a Payroll Implementation Specialist you will work closely with our Customer Support Team, the Tax Team, Engineering as well as our customers to gather the necessary information needed to accurately and efficiently enter payroll history and ensure a clean and smooth transition onto the Justworks Payroll platform. You will be able to blend together operational and problem-solving skills by working cross-functionally to resolve inquiries/issues while aiming to maximize operational efficiency.
Your Success Profile
What You Will Work On
- Fully review client information for completeness in advance of bringing them onboard
- Setup Justworks Payroll clients in our online payroll system ensuring appropriate earnings, deductions, taxes are set up accurately
- Load prior payroll history and balance back to previously filed tax returns to ensure accuracy
- Provide exceptional communication and follow-up with clients and internal teams throughout the implementation process, keeping all up to date on the status of the project
- When needed, perform parallel payroll processes to identify out of balances
- Troubleshoot and resolve payroll and tax out of balances in advance of the clients going live in our system
- Work within predetermined onboarding SLA’s, depending on client size and complexity
- Escalate potential issues early so as to resolve without affecting the implementation timeline
- Contribute to the improvement of the payroll implementation process and how we can more efficiently meet the needs of our customers
- Continuously document and update the implementation process to ensure a consistent workflow
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years of Payroll Implementation experience working for a prior payroll provider
- Comfort handling challenging situations; ability to be empathetic, compassionate, responsive and resourceful
- Strong research and analytical skills required to navigate the different ways our clients do their payroll
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with acute attention to detail
- Aptitude for learning new products and helping to break down complicated topics and explain them in simple terms people can understand
- Ability to come up with creative solutions to any problem you face, and know how to organize and prioritize your workload

The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted $36.06 per hour to $39.67 per hour
Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
