About Juniper Square

Our mission is to unlock the full potential of private markets. Privately owned assets like commercial real estate, private equity, and venture capital make up half of our financial ecosystem yet remain inaccessible to most people. We are digitizing these markets, and as a result, bringing efficiency, transparency, and access to one of the most productive corners of our financial ecosystem. If you care about making the world a better place by making markets work better through technology – all while contributing as a member of a values-driven organization – we want to hear from you.

Juniper Square offers employees a variety of ways to work, ranging from a fully remote experience to working full-time in one of our physical offices. We invest heavily in digital-first operations, allowing our teams to collaborate effectively across most US states, 2 Canadian Provinces and Mexico. We have physical offices in San Francisco, CA and Austin, TX, for US employees who prefer to work in an office some or all of the time.

We’re looking for an experienced technical product manager to build the data and platform foundations for how our customers and our internal teams drive business-critical decisions and processes. If you are attracted to crafting powerful user experiences for sophisticated business intelligence needs; building horizontal services like search, authentication and security features to enable intuitive customer workflows; and if developing scalable data infrastructure is exciting to you then let’s talk!

As a senior member of the product development organization, you will lead the evolution of two integral areas for Juniper Square: our data products and their underlying pipelines that both our customers and internal teams rely on, and second, the platforms that underpin much of our customer experience. You will develop a deep understanding of our customers, their business problems, workflows and data needs. You’ll use this to refine our roadmap and lead your own product development projects from start to finish, working with a team of engineers, QA, business and operations teams to successfully launch new features to customers.

What you’ll do

  • Develop the roadmap for Juniper Square’s BI products for both internal and external customers. Balance competing needs between features, stability and performance.
  • Prioritize platform needs across the entire R&D organization. Work with the platform team through the full software development lifecycle and take initiatives from concept through successful delivery, at a high quality and on time.
  • Develop deep empathy for our customers’ needs and pain points, by close collaboration with colleagues from our product, sales, customer success, operations teams as well as customers themselves.
  • Ship features and improvements frequently and iteratively, planning projects, documenting requirements, and motivating those building solutions with an understanding of the ‘why’ and the ‘what’, inspiring their ownership of the ‘how’.
  • Work cross-functionally with product marketing, customer success, operations teams and more to roll out new capabilities and drive adoption.

The role is best suited for a product manager who is passionate about technology and working with developers but excited to also interface with customers, operations and support go-to-market efforts.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in technical product management role
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or quantitative field, or equivalent schooling or training
  • Demonstrated ability to define and ship complex, technical products in an iterative, agile manner
  • Comfort working with a range of levels, from envisioning entirely new products to mastering details and edge cases
  • Strong understanding of data management, analytics, and platform technologies, such as data warehouses, APIs, Business Intelligence platforms (we use Looker), and data governance
  • Familiarity with SQL and data modeling in applications or enterprise environments. Bonus if you’ve worked with financial Investment-related data
  • Proven ability to motivate, lead and convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences through writing, presentations and collaboration with a diverse set of business teams from engineering to operations, and marketing to customer success
  • You have a love of data and the building blocks of technical products rooted in a curiosity for the business problems they ease and opportunities they unlock

At Juniper Square, we believe building a diverse workforce and an inclusive culture makes us a better company. If you think this job sounds like a fit, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all the qualifications.
