Western European Country Product Manager - Payments - Vice President

The EMEA Markets & Product Expansion (MPE) Team is a dynamic team part of J.P. Morgan Payments, responsible for country strategy, development, commercialization and local relevance of payment products across the region. The team acts as the voice of the customer within the Payments organization, ensuring clients' needs are understood and addressed.

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Vice President (VP) to join our team and implement our payments strategy in Western Europe. As a Western Europe MPE Manager you will be responsible for building the strategic vision for Western European Countries and will be accountable to the global product leaders. Engagement with multiple internal stakeholder groups such as Sales, Operations, Service, Technology, Risk, Compliance and Legal is critical to the success of this role. The ideal candidate will focus on deepening our geo footprint while reducing operational costs and risks within the current model.

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand local market to define country value propositions and visions
  • Anticipate internal and external factors impacting the business' governance and implement plans to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities
  • Develop and articulate a comprehensive forward looking plan for all Western European Countries
  • Identify market opportunities, customer needs, and competitive landscape to strengthen countries positioning and socialise with internal stakeholders
  • Familiarize with local country nuances through market research, customer feedback, and industry trends
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, industry partners, and regulatory bodies
  • Help drive country footprint deepening and revenue growth through targeted commercialisation plans
  • Monitor country performance metrics, check on growth progress of the country, and identify areas for improvement
  • Detect opportunities to enhance product offerings and country footprint
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes impacting the payments landscape
  • Foster a culture of innovation and agility within the team, encouraging creative problem-solving and experimentation

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Fluency in English
  • Experience focused in a product development, management, product delivery or comparable role
  • Payments experience, preferably commercial payments with a knowledge of payment systems, banking operations, and financial technology
  • Experience working with industry and regulatory bodies, standard setters
  • Proven ability to achieve quality results in a high-pressure, rapidly changing environment requiring flexibility / adaptability to changeable directives
  • Effective change-management and strategy-management experience. Ability to connect with teams to influence current-state mindset, help them adapt to a changing environment
  • Execution-oriented self-starter who likes to take initiative
  • Advanced communication, presentation, influencing and interpersonal skills with an ability to present complex information clearly to various stakeholders
  • Demonstrable strategic thinker with an ability to develop a Vision
  • Ability to develop and articulate a clear value proposition that aligns with business objectives

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Aptitude to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Project management skills would be a plus
