About Investment Solutions

Investment Solutions provides Wealth Management clients with investment solutions across all major asset classes including equities, fixed income, alternatives, multi-asset and money market funds.

Role Overview

The position is for an Analyst for the Global Beta team, based in New York City. The Global Beta Analyst will be a member of the Manager Solutions Team within the Wealth Management Investment Solutions business. The Manager Solutions Team oversees over $600bn in assets invested in mutual funds, ETFs, and SMAs. The Global Beta team is responsible for performing due diligence on, and collaborating with, external third-party passive and systematic managers who provide Wealth Management clients with access to exposures across Equity, Fixed Income, Commodities, and Alternatives across a range of vehicle types.

The position will partner with the New York and London Researchers to primarily perform data analytics and research on current and future products, the platform and industry as well as other activities central to the Beta team's function.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Run tailored universe screens to identify potential solutions, combining both qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Review global product universes including, but not limited to, UCITS and 40Act strategies - Identifying market trends, and where appropriate, working with providers to launch innovative exposures..
  • Stay at the forefront of product evolution and initiatives within the broader universe of ETFs and passive investing
  • Conduct and present attribution, holdings, and factor analysis across a wide range of asset classes and investment types to varying key stakeholders across the Wealth Management business..
  • Run and distribute a range of performance metrics for the approved platform
  • Support the use, implementation and enhancement of analytical tools utilized by the team
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis on a wide range of data and analytical topics under tight deadlines
  • Liaise with the technology team to provide design requirements for the integration of analytics and tools into a proprietary investment research and analytics platform

Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:

  • Exceptional quantitative aptitude and skill set with a mastery of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, fluid environment
  • Rigorous analytical mindset with a high level of intellectual curiosity and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Acute focus on attention to detail, accuracy, and data validation
  • Effective communication skills (listening, verbal, and written)
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Sound judgment and discretion; Maintain a consistent and strong focus on compliance and risk management
  • Strong initiative, energy and confidence completing assignments with limited supervision

Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:

  • Bachelor's degree, Major/Minor, in Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science
  • Programming experience
  • Interest or progress in pursuing a CFA designation
  • Knowledge/Interest in passive investments, including ETFs
