ABOUT THE TEAM

23 Wall is a specialized global team that expands Private Bank coverage, working holistically, across all lines of business with the goal to deliver the entirety of J.P. Morgan to the world's largest families, working with them as institutions in terms of capabilities, strategic partnerships, financing and access to private deals. The IB-PB Partnership Group sits within the 23 Wall umbrella as an extension of this mandate to drive new business opportunities for the Private Bank and Investment Bank from both existing relationships and new deal flow.

The Asia IB-PB Partnership lead in the private bank will work closely with 23 Wall colleagues and stakeholders in both the Private Bank and CIB to:

  • Build a framework for XLOB activity in order to drive two-way business referrals between the Private Bank and other lines of business, particularly the CIB
  • Proactively identify potential clients for the Private Bank by monitoring CIB deal activities, and identify potential clients to refer to other lines of businesses through engagement with private banking clients
  • Attend CIB industry sector and product team meetings, as well as private bank meetings, to keep abreast of pipelines, and identify value-creation opportunities for both the Private Bank and CIB
  • Proactively identify and strategize with private bankers on ways to bring value to their top clients from other lines of business
  • Develop extensive internal network of partners across all lines of business to leverage when exploring business leads and driving business opportunities and initiatives/events that cultivate XLOB partnerships for the Private Bank
  • Serve as a central point of contact for all Lines of Business (LOBs) and markets in APAC and subsequently track new business generation including the number of introductions, number of accounts opened, number of mandates/closed deals and conversion rate statistics
  • Educate partners on our compliance and control structures, ensuring we follow "Rules of the Road" during XLOB interactions
  • Educate partners in other lines of business on the Private Bank services and offering and the Private Bank on the appropriate transaction types and sizes for successful introductions
  • Develop and execute on the Private Bank's strategy in marquee corporate conferences
  • Partner with Finance & Business management teams to help deliver timely and accurate reporting and Product teams to continuously review technology developments, keeping the teams need on the technology roadmap

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • Ability to navigate a large organization, motivate partners, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong judgement and discretion when working with confidential information
  • Ability to understand Investment Banking deal flow including ECM (EPPs/ IPOS) and M&A transactions to be able to analyze pipeline opportunities and identify situations of potential liquidity events for the PB
  • Ability to speak directly to senior management and manage requests with high sensitivity
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Highly inquisitive, focused and pro-active
  • Communication with partners at all levels of the firm to explore leads, resolve requests, stay up-to-date with activity across the different regions and LOBs
  • Leadership and confidence in owning various initiatives with different teams
  • Excellence in managing large datasets in Excel to accurately capture, track and action introductions; prepare quarterly partnership activity reports and ad hoc data requests for the firms' senior management
  • Investment Banking experience strongly preferred
