About the Global Mortgage Solutions Business

The Global Mortgage Solutions business is a leading mortgage provider to Ultra High & High Net Worth Global Private Bank individuals with balance growth of ~25% over the past 4 years. The Global Mortgage platform currently serves the US and EMEA clients of the Global JPMorgan Private Bank (GPB) for residential mortgages secured by properties in the US, UK, and French markets. The Global Mortgage Solutions team includes a large team of ~100 Mortgage Specialists in multiple global locations who work with clients and bankers to guide them in their mortgage and home equity lines of credit needs and a ~30 member global mortgage product.

The Head of Mortgage Product is responsible for the end to end product management including strategic planning, creation, design, launch and lifecycle management of all mortgage & HELOC financial products offered in the US Private Bank and International Private Bank (UK, France) and the end to end platforms/products (from client facing applications, point of sale and loan origination) that enables the mortgage offering. The Head of Mortgage Product is a business function and expected to have a deep understanding of the mortgage business, its process and regulatory complexities and reports into the Global Head of Mortgage Solutions. The Mortgage product team aims to enable the mortgage and HELOC growth by innovating, bringing strategic insights and efficiencies. It also helps adapting to a dynamic regulatory framework. To achieve its goals, the product team partners closely with the Mortgage Specialists and the Mortgage Operations teams and GPB market (sales) functions for the elaboration and design of all products and features as well as various functions such as Technology, Legal, Risk, Compliance and Marketing to build, design and deliver solutions that enhance client experience and achieve business objectives.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will lead the global product team and will have the responsibility to enhance the strategic product vision and drive its implementation. This will be achieved through understanding the mortgage products and its economics, its features for clients and advisors, the technology platforms and the ability to reimagine processes, products and the mortgage industry. Strong communications skills are essential for this role as it will be crucial to obtain buy-in and funding for the global product roadmap. The Head of Mortgage Product will be working very closely with the Global Head of Mortgage Solutions, EMEA Head of Mortgage Solutions, regional U.S. Mortgage Team Leads, Head of EMEA and US Mortgage Operations and the WM Solutions Product office and expected to represent the team at various senior Product forums. Leadership skills are essential to lead a team of directs that will be managing the array of programs and product work and various stakeholders ranging from technology to Legal, Risk and Compliance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Working the Global Head of Mortgage Solutions, EMEA Head of Mortgage Solutions and key stakeholders, set the vision of the product strategy for mortgage and HELOC home lending financial products and technology roadmap with an eye for innovation, intellectual curiosity and a change agent
  • Product Development & Performance Monitoring: Lead the development and enhancement of mortgage financial products/features from ideation to launch, considering market trends, customer needs, and regulatory requirements and ongoing monitoring and enhancements
  • Market Analysis: Conduct ongoing competitive analysis to identify opportunities for new financial & software mortgage products, evaluate competitors, and assess customer preferences and behavior.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Bankers, Mortgage Specialists, Mortgage Credit Risk & Operation and Technology (internal and external) teams to ensure seamless product implementation, effective communication, and alignment of strategies.
  • Risk Management: Work closely with legal, risk, compliance and controls teams to ensure mortgage products comply with regulatory requirements and mitigate risks associated with credit, operational, and market factors.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure the team is championing the client/user experience by gathering feedback, addressing pain points, and continuously improving mortgage products and processes.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to internal teams to ensure they have the knowledge and resources to effectively promote and support mortgage products.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 10+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in end to end product management with mortgage origination/industry experience including deep subject matter expertise in the financial mortgage products
  • Effective change management and transformation experience, including project and program management that spans business and partners teams within the financial services industry.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written - including excellent presentation skills proven ability to distill complex ideas into consumable and actionable materials.
  • Experience in enterprise-wide release and deployment processes and strategies
  • Highly collaborative - ability to connect and partner effectively with global teams to influence outcomes and deliver results.
  • Demonstrated track record of adapting to a rapidly changing business environment, ability to quickly assess situations, act decisively, and capitalize on change.
