Vice President, Technical Writer - Digital Payments

The Commerce Payments organization is a team of highly talented product and engineering leaders focused on delivering innovative payment experiences and platforms. We're transforming customer experiences, simplifying the ways we do business, and driving toward product excellence.

As a Technical Writer in Commerce Payments, you will create clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation that enhances the user experience for customers across the Chase digital payment and commerce platforms. We're looking for individuals who are customer-obsessed, have a strong passion for translating complex technical concepts into user-friendly content, and a desire to be on the forefront of digital payments and technology.

  • Create and maintain product documentation, including user guides, application program interface (API) documentation, integration guides, and release notes.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent documentation style and format across all materials.
  • Help define the strategy for content changes working closely with program and product management staying lock step with delivery
  • Speak directly to internal customers to understand documentation needs across features and functionality.
  • Assist in the creation of training materials, frequently asked questions (FAQs), and other support content as needed.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing in the payments or financial technology industry.
  • Experience with API documentation and tools like Swagger or Postman.
  • Understanding of payment systems and technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality documentation.
  • Familiarity with version control systems.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication.
  • Proven success in collaborating with cross-functional teams, influencing and driving decisions.
  • Hybrid in-office work schedule. Flexibility to work Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Communications, Computer Science or comparable field of study.
  • B2B SaaS or platform products experience a plus.
