As a Associate/Vice President in Trade Sales within the Trade & Working Capital team, you will be responsible for Trade Sales Coverage to Corporate clients and Commercial banking clients spread across Malaysia and other select ASEAN countries. Scope for the position includes developing a clear road map to meet Trade business' financial targets and improve client experience for identified clients. The role involves extensive collaboration with Coverage/ Bankers, Operations, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, Tax, Credit, Implementations, Product, and Customer Service with in-country and regional functional partners to meet client requirements. You will be responsible to lead and manage client initiatives including owning of high impacting client interactions and engagements.

Trade & Working Capital is part of Payments and a critical element of a complete Commercial & Investment Bank client relationship, and an important component of our international growth strategy. We offer financing and risk mitigation products to our Corporate and Commercial banking clients. Client solutions include Supply Chain Finance, Export / export credit agency Finance, Trade Loans, Receivables Finance and Purchase, Contract Monetization, Commercial Letters of Credit, Standby Letters of Credit, and Guarantees.
Job responsibilities:
- Manage relationship on Trade Sales products with identified/ key clients portfolio including prospecting and deepening client relationship
- Develop and manage strategy to meet business results such as revenue growth and new sales targets for Trade solutions
- Coordinate with Coverage/Bankers and other line of businesses with respect to developing business and cross-sell opportunities with clients
- Ensure that business is operating in full compliance with local market standards and the Firm wide requirements
- Help roll out new products to achieve revenue growth and maximize market penetration
- Provide input into product development, marketing, and other strategic initiatives
- Identify solutions and programs for the business which will ensure J.P. Morgan Trade product/ services are at par and meet client requirements.
- Communicate client priorities locally and regionally within Trade Finance business
- Identify challenges and develop solutions. Identify potential issues and process inefficiencies and escalate accordingly within the Risk and Control framework
- Work with Marketing, Product Management, and Global Trade partners to deliver best-in-class external materials and engagements. Represent JPMC's Global Trade capabilities at internal and external events
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Bachelor degree from a reputed Institute
- Minimum 8 years working experience with trade products and managing clients, candidates with less experience will be considered for the associate level
- In depth knowledge of Traditional Trade and Structured Trade products - Receivables Purchase, Supply Chain Finance, export credit agency financing, etc.
- Proven track record of results-oriented performance; building and influencing strategic relationships; ability to lead and influence others
- Strong presentation skills
- Experience in handling documentation negotiation
- Strong analytical and execution skills
- Experience in commercial, credit process, corporate and/or transactional banking
- Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently to deliver in a timely and accurate manner; strong attention to detail
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Masters or Post Graduate from a reputed Institute or equivalent degree
- Capable of working with minimal supervision
- Experience in working in a matrix structure and with cross-border teams
- Able to communicate and interact effectively with people at all levels
