As a Technology Support III team member within J.P. Morgan Chase's Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB) - Management and support functions, in this role you'll use your creative and critical thinking to resolve front office application issues. Your technical skills will be key in developing software solutions to enhance the support experience for our business users.

Job responsibilities

  • Provides trade floor support to the FX and Commodities front office traders and middle office operations.
  • Troubleshoots complex business and infrastructure related issues with the in-house trading applications to ensure continuity of the business and minimum downtime of the systems.
  • Performs debugging of Python based applications, provides technical solutions of the issues, and recommends solution to the traders, application development and quant teams.
  • Develops the monitoring tools, automation solutions, helper APIs and other tools to reduce the manual work.
  • Performs incident and problem management of the high impact or recurring production issues, communicates with the key stakeholders as well as with the business users about the system health and incidents.
  • Assists in the monitoring of the production environment using standard monitoring tools.
  • Drives projects related to new business onboarding, infrastructure upgrades and resiliency management

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise troubleshooting, resolving, and maintaining information technology services
  • Working industry experience of application support in a financial or related industry
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills for troubleshooting issues related to front/middle office trading and infrastructure.
  • Good working experience of incident and problem management in a financial institution
  • Experience in observability and monitoring tools (e.g. Geneos) and techniques.
  • Very good communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Basic understanding of the front/middle office trading including order life cycle, trade booking, risk and pricing, trade reconcile and trade STP.
  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Good domain knowledge of the Macro front and/or middle office business (FX, Commodities, Rates or Credit)
  • Good knowledge of server-side programming using Python and debugging techniques
  • Knowledge of Linux, Databases, and networking infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Cloud (e.g. AWS) related APIs and related infrastructure
