Job responsibilities
- Applies deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies focused on analyzing complex data and systems, anticipating issues, and finding ways to mitigate risk
- Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes
- Manages infrastructure engineering in accordance with business requirements
- Drives thought leadership within the product line
- Supports a Product / Engineering team while consulting on and delivering complex technical products, projects, or applications
- Demonstrated experience in structuring and handling complex business solutions or technology problems to meet client needs while advising teams on strategies and best practices
- Engages clients or stakeholders in solutioning and lifecycle stages from high level to low level architecture, planning and roadmap
- Executes work according to compliance standards, risk and security, and business objectives
- Considers upstream/downstream system or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions
- Advises junior engineers and technologists
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments
- Experience in Perimeter Edge connectivity and security
- Understanding or have experience with Agile and Lean philosophies, including experience with JIRA and Confluence
- Strong understanding of IT risk management, compliance and technology controls. Proven regulatory management skills.
- Adept in specific infrastructure technology and programming languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
- Knowledge of Business and Technology resilience, incident response and crisis management
- Understanding of cloud, virtualization, APIs (Application Programming Interface), and modern software languages
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Exposure to managing budgets
- Strong written and verbal communicator with excellent reasoning, organizational and presentation skills to both technical and product audiences, including senior executives
- Knowledge of the product development life cycle and design
