As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate & Investment Bank - Technology team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems via unit tests to confirm software modules are of the highest quality
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems. In addition to writing test cases, leverage unit and integration testing, develop functionality and automation
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
- Participate in scrum team stand-ups, code reviews and other ceremonies, contribute to task completion and blocker resolution within your team
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Identify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities, to improve delivery flow across product and technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident with 7+ years of U.S. residency
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages Java, J2EE
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle. Ability to work in a large Agile/Scrum environment, collaborating with Agile teams, and actively participating in Agile ceremonies.
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD,with Jenkins and BitBucket, Applicant Resiliency, and Security, TDD, DevOps automation and code quality tools (i.e. static/dynamic code scanning)
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability, particularly frontend web focused
- Advanced skill in creating, designing, and refactoring component hierarchy in modern frontend web frameworks ( i.e. Angular, React, Node.js) including advanced browser knowledge and strong Javascript Core Fundamentals in ES2021 or above
- Hands on experience of unit testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, Jasmine, Karma. Including experience in end to end testing frameworks such as selenium/cucumber, playwright, or cypress
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Advanced experience with Java, J2EE, .NET frameworks, C# or SQL server
- Proficient with .Net server side API development, Microservice Architecture and Spring Framework
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, with experience designing cloud ready solutions, including creating artifacts, models, and strategy presentations
- Experience Mentoring or Leading Junior Software Engineers
