As an Experienced Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Global Technology team, you serve as member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Depending on the team that you join, you could be developing mobile features that give our customers and clients more control over how they bank with us, strategizing on how big data can make our trading systems quicker, creating the next innovation in payments for merchants, or supporting the integration of our private and public cloud platforms.
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Engage hands-on database administration matters such as Queries, Query optimization and managing complex procedure
- Implement database backup and recovery procedures
- Perform database tuning and optimize queries and stored procedures
- Perform minimal downtime database migration for large, complex database, covering both homogeneous and heterogeneous environment
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Strong knowledge in Oracle/MS SQL Server database architecture and administration
- Strong expertise on at least one of the following database technology - AWS RDS, AWS Aurora, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres
- Understanding in Data migration, data streaming tooling (e.g. Oracle Goldengate or Pentaho), database security, and encryption practices
- Proficient in coding in Python
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages : SQL and store procedures development
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
