DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Use Agile software development methodology to develop risk assessment applications that control operational risk, and perform technical application design, implementation, deployment, and support. Understand the firm's Operational Risk & Control domain and work with Product Owners & other stakeholders to capture, analyze, and document business requirements, then participate in Agile design and development meetings throughout the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Develop risk assessment models/modules using artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and risk management/quant/predictive modeling. Architect and document software systems, ensuring all non-functional requirements, enterprise architectural standards, and guidelines are met. Review solutions with line of business (LOB) architects and address any deficiencies. Create UML and Entity-Relationship diagrams to document the software design. Ensure that design is robust, extensible and follows best practices. Develop Web, Batch, and DB applications, including presentation, business and persistence layers of the application. Use Java programming language and SQL to code application functionality. Perform code reviews prior to implementation. Ensure that security scans are performed and all vulnerabilities are fixed. Create unit tests and perform integration tests to verify that developed software meets the requirements. Validate deployed code to ensure that it works as expected. Automate regression tests to support future deployments. Automate software release using continuous integration / deployment (CI/CD). Work with OPS team to setup monitoring, and resolve production issues. Assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis to ensure that software bugs are corrected in an expedient manner, and communicate resolution and next steps. Proactively identify major issues, risks, dependencies and manage them to minimize impact to overall implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer/Developer, Java Developer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills: liaising with business stakeholders to gather and review requirements; designing software solutions aligned with business requirements; using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot to build scalable and flexible software applications; using Maven or Gradle for dependency management; Cloud Native Microservices architecture and REST APIs; collaborating with cross-functional teams including project managers and product owners; articulating technical concepts to non-technical audiences; identifying information technology (IT) issues, risks, and dependencies; Cucumber; Junit; Selenium Automated Testing; Functional Testing; System Integration Testing; Cypress automated testing; building large- scale, high-performance data processing systems; designing telemetry and usage tracking solutions for business intelligence (BI) tools; performing exploratory data analysis (EDA) within large enterprise databases; extracting, cleaning, transforming, and loading data; performing data manipulation, data structuring, data design flow, and query optimization using SQL programming language; using Python for data manipulation, structuring, and design flow; utilizing advanced BigData processing techniques to process large data sets, including via use of data containers, multithreading, and multiprocessing in PySpark; building scalable Spark data pipelines; developing models related to artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML), risk management, quantitative analysis, and predictive modeling; and implementing risk assessment modules.
