JP Morgan's Short Duration trading desk is part of one of the top Interest Rates Trading businesses on Wall Street, and we are currently looking for a qualified candidate to work on the trading desk, and help facilitate trading.
Position Summary:
As an Associate for the Short Duration Trading Desk (Securities), you will be tasked with many responsibilities including helping to price client trades, hedge risks, work on desk projects and manage many operational duties for the desk. The head of short duration will set expectations on pricing, risk, hedging, and the direction of the book, and the junior trader will be responsible for managing these trading responsibilities, in addition to handling desk projects and all the daily operational requirements for this group. The operational responsibilities for the desk include but are not limited to booking and confirming trades, talking to sales and sales assistants, reporting desk P&L, working on spreadsheets, coding projects, and other related work for desk intelligence.This is a unique opportunity to enter a strong franchise in a junior trading role, where more responsibility can be earned by proving core trading competencies, strong communication, ability to take direction easily as well as critical feedback, and ability to produce revenue and service the client base.

Job Responsibilities:
- Pricing small to medium sized client trades
- Hedging risks to trades and the book, including duration, curve, swap spreads, futures, and on-off the run risk
- Developing desk infrastructure for risk and P&L
- Working with the desk to develop analytics for relative value trading in both cash and derivatives
- Managing all operational duties for reporting P&L, risk, and anything ad hoc asked by the desk including projects or specific data gathering.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- 1+ years of trading experience is required. No exceptions.
- Undergraduate degree
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Interest in markets and macro products
- Ability to take direction and constructive feedback, while meeting time sensitive deadlines on a daily basis
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Undergraduate technical/STEM degree
- Basic understanding of interest rate derivatives and cash products
- Familiarity with Excel
