Role Description

As the Senior Product Delivery Associate with technical business analyst & support Specialist experience, your mission is to help enable our team to build and lead Application Catalog operations. You will interact with process owners, engineering partners, and control owners to analyze, understand, document, and interpret complex processes and related production issues, and write/update operational procedures.

The Application Catalog product under the J.P. Morgan Chase Infrastructure Platforms enables robust Application Catalog management that is consistent, mature, repeatable, and well-supported. Your primary responsibilities include critical thinking, problem-solving, responsiveness to end users, and achieving strong net promoter scores.

Key objectives for this effort are:

  • Establish and execute a consistent support framework for application catalog management from registration to decommission.
  • Streamline processes and provide best-in-class service.

This position is responsible for setting up the operate team for Application Catalog management, being a subject matter expert who can grow into a broader scope over time based on business impact.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond routine approaches to build solutions or solve technical problems.
  • Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
  • Participate in the full story life cycle, including estimation, test plan execution, and software quality needs.
  • Write and execute test plans, design and develop test tools, debug and report code bugs, and push quality upstream.
  • Work effectively with teams and stakeholders to develop relationships and achieve common goals.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in a business function and understand the broader business context.
  • Understand Product Functional knowledge and advise the team on Functional Impacts.
  • Develop and maintain automated scripts and manual regression test plans for various interfaces, adhering to coding standards.
  • Analyze scripts, perform code reviews of automated scripts, and report results in test management tools, providing updates on automation progress and custom reporting as requested.
  • Collaborate with application development and infrastructure teams to understand new projects, set Production support team expectations, and gather Production Metrics for identifying areas of improvement and efficiency gains.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 3+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficient in coding in one or more programming languages.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
  • 8+ years of Quality Assurance in IT, with significant experience in leading software development testing efforts as an added advantage.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of testing methodologies and application debugging from both technical and business perspectives.
  • Agile testing experience in an agile development environment (e.g., SCRUM/XP/Kanban) with the ability to write acceptance criteria for user stories.
  • Proficiency in defining highly complex automated test cases and scenarios.
  • Experience with web/rest services automation testing tools (e.g., JMeter, SOAP UI, Rest Assured).
  • Experience with defect tracking/management software and the ability to formulate metrics.
  • Ability to manage and organize test artifacts for each product testing iteration.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Java/JavaScript, Junit/TestNG, BDD, Gradle, IntelliJ/Eclipse, and GIT.
  • Knowledge of performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or ITSM business processes is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of databases and the ability to write basic SQL queries is a plus.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in analysis or DevOps in the financial sector.
  • Proficient in querying and analyzing data, and performing data profiling using SQL and reporting tools.
  • Working knowledge in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
  • Superior analytical skills to evaluate information, assess risk, reconcile conflicts, and prioritize user requests.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects and tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail and process.
