As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms, you will hold a crucial leadership position. Your role will encompass guiding and mentoring various technical teams, propelling financial technologies, and foreseeing the requirements and dependencies of other functions within the organization. Your proficiency will have a substantial impact on budgetary and technical decisions, thereby improving operational efficiencies and functionalities.

Job responsibilities

  • Provide direction, oversight, and coaching to a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers working on tasks ranging from basic to moderately complex.
  • Be accountable for decisions impacting team resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.
  • Ensure successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate issues to execute a book of work, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Offer input to leadership on budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve team operational efficiencies and functionality.
  • Foster a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect, prioritizing diverse representation within the team.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on full-stack development concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
  • 10+ years' experience in in full-stack development.
  • Experience managing a critical application with a 2-hour SLA.
  • Experience handling applications with strict audit and regulatory implications.
  • Dedicate 50% of your time to coding and designing new solutions.
  • Ability to manage a team of 6-7 engineers.
  • Practical cloud-native experience, with AWS being essential.
  • Proficiency in JAVA, Node.js, Angular.
  • Experience with Oracle, GraphDB (TigerGraph or any RDF Graph), MongoDB.
  • Real-time processing experience using Kafka.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • IT Asset Management (ITAM) experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL and Python.
  • Knowledge of RDF and SPARQL is optional but beneficial.
  • UI/UX experience is advantageous.
