As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank in the Markets Technology within Equities/Derivatives division you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. - Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s) - Python
- Great problem solving skills for problems with a mathematical/technological background
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
- Experience with development, deployment and maintenance of commercial service-oriented application(s)
- Experience leading a team, conducting code reviews, mentoring and guiding more junior team members
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods. Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Practical cloud native experience
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Equities business knowledge is an advantage but relevant experience in other business areas is welcomed
- Unix or Linux knowledge
- Working knowledge of continuous integration and deployment processes
