As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate and Investment Bank you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks
  • Be accountable for decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
  • Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders
  • Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary
  • Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team
  • Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on team leadership concepts and proficient advanced experience
  • Experience leading teams of technologists
  • Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives
  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
  • In-depth knowledge of the markets and trading industry and their IT systems
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Expert knowledge in OOPS, specifically C#/.Net
  • Expert knowledge in architecture and design of systems at scale

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience working and ability to dive in at the code level
  • Experience working with Portfolio Management systems
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment
  • Understanding of modern User Interface architecture and design
  • Understanding and experience with data cache'ing technologies (i.e. Redis, Hazlecast, etc)
  • Understanding and experience with message distribution technologies (i.e. RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc)
  • English skills: advance

About the Innovation Lab in Athens

We recently announced plans for a new office in Athens, Greece, to support our organic growth in the country and to bolster the innovation efforts of our Payments and Markets business globally.

J.P. Morgan first opened its doors in Greece more than five decades ago, and today we provide products and services from across our Investment Banking, Payments and Asset & Wealth Management businesses to a number of local and multinational Greek clients.

The new office will house a new Innovation Lab, which will provide research and development to the J.P. Morgan Payments and Markets business.
