As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector/ Public Cloud Enablement & Adoption, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

The Cloud Identity Management team is focused on accelerating cloud adoption through development of solutions that enable application teams and Lines of Business (LOBs) to innovate in the cloud while meeting their controls and compliance obligations. We are looking for someone who can identify opportunities for improvement, architect and develop solutions and partner with our stakeholders, partners and customers to drive implementation and adoption.

Job responsibilities

  • Provides regular technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  • Contributes actively to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
  • Lead the design and development of the cloud identity management offerings, ensuring that they are secure, scalable, and reliable
  • Lead a team of talented software engineers and guide them through mentorship & coaching
  • Collaborate with other cloud platform engineering teams to enable the delivery of high-quality, secure, and scalable applications on the cloud
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in cloud technologies and bring in recommendations for adoption and implementation of new tools/technologies
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements for the cloud

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s) - Experience developing solutions in AWS is required. Proficiency with Python is required. Experience with Golang is required.
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
  • Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering event-driven system design, enterprise integration, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced knowledge of Containerization and Container Runtime/Orchestration platforms (Docker/Kubernetes/ECS etc)
  • Hands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning Tools like Terraform, Pulumi, Crossplane & Cloud Formation etc
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD/SCM tools like Jenkins, Spinnaker, Bitbucket / Github etc and with logging and monitoring tools Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus etc
  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure design and architecture and cloud migration strategies
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices, shift left methodologies and DevSecOps processes

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Additional extensive experience with Golang is highly desirable
  • Hands-on experience with another cloud provider (e.g. Azure, GCP)) is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with front-end development technologies
  • Experience designing & building telemetry & logging capabilities for cloud platforms
  • Certifications in target areas (Cloud/Kubernetes/IaC etc)
  • Experience leading end-end platform development efforts
