As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Merchant Services Technology, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications. Areas of focus will include but not limited to: working on operational platforms and tools to enable efficient support of E2E technology solutions that process billions of transactions annually, working on observability of the the complex technology ecosystem, working within dynamic environments needed to support SDLC and/or solutions to facilitate release controls and governance.

Job responsibilities

  • Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Ensures teams develop secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs solutions written by others
  • Works collaboratively across teams to design, develop, test, and release solutions
  • Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  • Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in operational tooling and observability
  • Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of organization-wide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on AWS concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS, and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Practical AWS cloud native experience (EKS, ECS, Lambda, Glue, API Gateway, infrastructure and security)
  • Experience in event driven (Kafka, MSK), Microservices, and RESTful architecture
  • Experience with variety of data and persistence technologies such as SQL, No-SQL, and caching platforms
  • Hands-on development and programming experience on the Java 8+/Java EE stack including functional and reactive development models, hands on experience on the latest Spring & Spring Boot Framework
  • Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods, familiarity with CI/CD tools

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Working with and analyzing large datasets, designing and solutioning with resiliency and security considerations
  • Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
