As a Senior Director of Site Reliability Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Employee Compute organization, you are deemed as a force multiplier at both a line-of-business and firmwide level. Inspire your team members and others to deliver durable and resilient products and services to our customers, define firmwide strategies for reliability, and guide and entrust your team to lead and execute those strategies.

Job responsibilities

  • Manage the SRE function for business critical, desktop & VDI solutions and products used firmwide within the Employee Compute organization
  • Manages team members' development by ensuring they have access to resources needed for learning
  • Collaborates across the firm to align team members for mobility opportunities in line with their career aspirations
  • Applies a wide range of tactics and strategies to guide internal executive decisions to achieve substantial goals
  • Manages multiple stakeholders and complex projects consisting of large teams
  • Implements innovative methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects and people working on highly complex business issues

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on site reliability/software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ year of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise and more broadly across the organization
  • Experience of SRE for SaaS based applications
  • Experience implementing meaningful customer driven SLO/SLIs
  • Experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate, and solve complex technological issues firmwide for critical technologies
  • Influences the teams' culture by championing innovation and change for firmwide success
  • Demonstrated prior experience influencing across large highly matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value at scale
  • Experience leading complex projects supporting site reliability engineering design, scaling, resilience, and system performance assessments for highly critical and regulated applications
  • Demonstrated prior experience with maturity uplifts, observability strategies and TOIL reduction at an enterprise scale
  • Demonstrated prior experience managing high severity production incidents to resolution
  • Strong experience of observability tools both on-prem and in cloud such as Dynatrace, Thousand Eyes, Apica, Splunk
  • Demonstrated experience managing Audit / Controls for multiple technologies

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
  • Experience with Windows server and desktop technologies
  • Experience running SRE maturity uplift programs
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and delegate effectively
