J.P. Morgan Collateral Services resides within the Trading Services business as part of the broader Securities Services organisation. The Collateral Services products provide value added services to institutional clients across both buy-side and sell-side by facilitating liquidity, reducing counterparty risk, and improving operational efficiency. J.P. Morgan Collateral Services vision is to be the "The Global Collateral Partner of Choice through Innovation Collaboration and Transformation". The Relationship Management team are located in Hong Kong, Sydney and Tokyo to provide local client coverage and collateral expertise.

As a Relationship Manager in the Collateral Services team, you will focus on managing Triparty client coverage, growing incremental revenue, partnering with Sales to win new mandates, developing new markets, and maintaining a strategic understanding of the client's business and operating model. You will also act as the clients' escalation contact and owns the communication and resolution of issues/inquiries by working with internal partners on continuous product improvements and quality service delivery. You are not only the client's contact but also the client's trusted advisor on all collateral services related matters.

Job Responsibilities

  • Acts as primary contact and point of escalation for clients and internal J.P. Morgan teams
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of clients' operating model and impacts from the market, vendor and regulatory activities
  • Identifies trends, issues and opportunities and assist clients to navigate the J.P. Morgan franchise and develop new business
  • Conducts regular client reviews that captures service levels, client and market trends, client platform requirements and feedback, wallet share, portfolio mix and contribution to cost
  • Oversees performance against agreed clients/stakeholders' expectations and gathers intelligence on clients and disseminates internally
  • Seeks opportunities and responds to initiatives to improve service levels and improved efficiency for J.P. Morgan and the client
  • Facilitates client presentations and training for new products/markets which best meet the client's needs
  • Leads client surveys and aggregates client feedback on new client solutions
  • Supports Sales in improving and retaining the Client relationship, and driving additional sales opportunities

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Minimum 3 years in a client facing role in Financial Services industry
  • Strong executive presence, strategic thinking and influencing skills (both within J.P. Morgan and with the Client), including the ability to negotiate
  • Business proficient in Japanese and English
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to engage a senior-level audience
  • Ability to summarise, simplify and communicate detailed and complex information to a broad range of team members or clients across the seniority spectrum
  • Demonstrates both partnership and assertiveness, can delegate and strategically think
  • Prior experience interacting with multiple functional areas across Business Lines (e.g. Product, Operations, Technology, Legal, Risk and Sales)
  • Strong ownership, positive attitude and self-motivation, proves to be accountable

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Background in collateral management, securities lending/repo markets, preferably Securities Servicing Industry
  • Knowledge of the Securities Financing market and operations of sell and buy side institutions
  • Technical knowledge of custody operations
  • Understanding of the nuances of markets within the APAC region
